ETFC/EFC amalgamation

Recommended Posts

500 at best, for now.....don't forget EFC have had much larger crowds in the past....For example: EFC got over 1500 for a 'bog-standard Ryman game' against B.Stotford ,in 95-96.

What about a better chance of the council finding a site for a ground,if the clubs are united.

Don't forget the council OWE the previous supporters of EFC (ie..Town fans) and the current EFC,for their part in selling us down the river....At the moment the council's loyalties are split (who should they help find a site for a new ground.?)...At the moment its easier for them to do nothing...If a 'united Enfield' came knocking on the door, the case would be much stronger.

Ah sensible posts!

And I thought I was the only one.

It seems to me that there is a body of support, including the chairman, who feel that talks would be beneficial. I include Horses Mouth, Lovely Stuff, Beer Sponser and Invisible Man who would like to see some discussion as to how football in the borough can progress.

Bit different from a recent post that there is no evidence of support for dialogue on this bb.

I find it sad that EFC cannot respond positively to this.

If a merger did happen(big if,i know)...Enfield Town's name may change slightly(or may not as the case may be.)

The reason i mention this,is because i was reading about football league clubs that have changed names SINCE joining the football league.

There are many instances, but here are a few examples:

Until 1971 AFC Bournmouth were called Bournmouth & Boscombe athletic.

Until 1968 Hartlepool United were called Hartepool(s) United.

Until 1970 swansea City were called Swansea Town.

I am not sure the council will feel they owe any one anything
