Enfield Town v AFC Sudbury

Steph, I'm sorry but I have no idea where you're coming from. It was an awful tackle - an out - of- control snowplough launched from two yards away. I think it is significant that the red card was greeted with NO dissent from the Town players and NO audible protest from the crowd.

Secondly, do you really think that our players wouldn't have reacted similarly had one of ours been on the receiving end?

A lot of very interesting comments posted on yesterdays match. I don't get to see as many matches as I would like these days, but on a damp, drab afternoon, I thought this was a cracking match, great entertainment, and another fine performance by The Town, who soaked up a lot of pressure in the second half, but still created plenty of  good chances to add to their slender single goal advantage.

There were many fine individual performances, who deserved the MOM award, but I am a BIG fan of Harry Ottaway, and I felt he edged it with his tireless contribution to an outstanding team performance.

Next Saturdays game at Bognor is like a home fixture for me, only 8 miles travel, and it is always good to see Towners down here on the south coast. The Rocks are having a great season, so another close game in prospect. Don't miss a day at the seaside, and grab a Turner's Pie while you're at Nyewood Lane - they are delicious!  See you there.

Well done yesterday everyone!

I thought Nathan's torpedoed tackle was a red at the time. It was backed up by Brad not even questioning it for an appeal. It's a shame as the Livings Crook and Shulton trio look as awesome 3 in midfield as you'll get at our level.

As for Bognor the supporters coach is already full which is great for our followers getting to cheer on the team, unfortunately I for one have missed out, I wonder if there's sufficient demand for a smaller 30 seater to be booked? It's certainly an attractive fixture to attend.

Andy I have to bow to your experience as a ref however if you got a clear view of the red then you couldn't have had a clear view if the two yellows over the other side of the pitch.

As for FJ I know that you stand behind the goal and I was closer. I did not understand the red and still don't. It was a clumsy tackle but not particularly dangerous. Neither of you have commented on the childish reaction of the Sudbury players or the comment above about the way the player had a miraculous recovery after the sending off.

I am really pleased that Bradley doesn't have Town playing like that.

Steph. What has 'the childish reaction of the Sudbury players' got to do with the challenge which resulted in the sending off? It was reckless and a red. All players recover, well they tend to, even when they appear to be on their last legs.
