v Chesham

Frustrating in that we have lost a very even contest purely on shutting off for 2 or 3 minutes and paid a huge huge price for it.

IMO a draw would probably have been the fair result. Neither keeper has really made anything but routine saves.

Based on how the game went its a really bad loss made even worse by it being Chesham. In a way its even worse that they didn't totally outplay us like they have often done especially at home in vast majority of recent games with them. It's crazy how bad Slough's record with Chesham has been for the last 10-15 years

Certainly no sign of ever being out played today and on actual open play we shaded the first half and the second half was fairly even apart from the two calamitous defensive errors that cost us the game.

Exactly my point. Least with the common losses to them a lot of the time we could say fair play they were better than us on the day. We matched them and still lost and its tough to take after so many poor results against them over the years stemming back way before the Bakes and Unders era.

Have to say I'm feeling pretty gutted by our defeat today.

We were the better team in the first half and the 1-0 score line reflected this.

Unfortunately the second half was a different story and after a two minute spell of some very poor defending the points were lost.

We still had plenty of time to turn the game around, but in truth, despite the effort from our players being there, we huffed and puffed without really hurting the Chesham defence or testing their keeper apart from the odd one or two fleeting chances.

We deserved more after our first half performance but 2 minutes of 'schoolboy defending' has cost us dearly.

Have to say I thought we did miss Guy Hollis today.

Left feeling so frustrated! Such an opportunity to really close the gap on Leamington blown by a few minutes. Not sure we deserved to win though but the old hoodoo continues against Chesham... they must love playing us! With such a busy tough month and with only 2 of the 8 games at home it was vital we won I felt. Just makes it tougher now and even more important to pick up a few away wins now.

I'm in agreement with most of whats been said about the game. I thought Chesham's were jammy today. On the whole, I thought Slough were the better team on the day.

As good as Chesham have been over the years under Andy Leese, I wasn't that impressed by their play today

and to be honest, am still in a daze to how we lost the match.

Swear we are jinxed when we play them !

It's goals that count, though, and after we conceded their second, we struggled to get our snappy passing going and resorted to long range kicks and crosses. Plenty of effort but little penetration. Have to credit Chesham's defending for this.

My man of the match was Mark Nisbet. Thought him, Sean Fraser and Lee Togwell were our best players today.

In hindsight, I wish Dobbo had stayed on and been pushed forward as he looked our main attacking threat today but the managers don't have the luxury of hindsight !

Not convinced on Chris Flood yet [only 3 games I know] so plenty of time to set our forward line on fire. We know he is highly rated, by those in the know, and should come good, and of course, he's still getting to know his fellow players and the rehearsed moves etc but I was expecting a shoot on sight merchant and someone more cocksure in front of goal. Just doesn't seem to have happened for him yet.

Pity because I was hoping he would be a star today. Wasn't surprised to see Charlie Moone replace him.

Galling to think we've lost another derby match to that mob up the road. Thank God we don't play them every week !

As we all know some players can take a little time to settle into their new clubs.

Chris Flood is a good player and a proven goal scorer at a higher level. It might take a little longer than we anticipated but he will come good.

Agree. We know he's just come back from an injury and perhaps on 3g it isn't helping his recovery.

As long as it isn't the return of the Slough striker curse. Remember Paul Coombs !

Other than hitting us with two goals in two minutes, I didnt feel threatened by Chesham. However, we could have been playing to today and still wouldnt have scored. I was impressed with their back 4 (especially the two big central defenders). We made the last 20 minutes too easy for them.

Got to say, he may be approaching his pension, but that Barry Hayles touches and footballing brain was top notch (probably wont go down well with fellow Rebels, but just saying as I saw it).

We go again, tough Jan, with 6 out of 7 league games away.

The two centre backs are both former league players and the wing backs are both former Luton players so shouldn't be too surprised they are quite good.

We have overcome some of our bogey teams already this season fast forward to April and May and we might have to overcome one even two more to progress in play offs.

COYREBELS ĺets win the league title.
