Approaches

Officially all transfers should be done by official 7 day approaches but I believe clubs could and have agreed between themselves to transfer players without making it official thus waiving the 7 days

So how the hell did Leverstock Green get away with signing 4 players from Colney Heath on the same day?

I believe that this was at the time Colney Heath parted company with Micky Nathan and I guess that the players did not want to play for the incoming manager. Our own manager (WGC) at the time also agreed to waive any approach and allow two players to sign for the new manager at Colney Heath.

Thanks Karen.

If you're as boring as me, this is very interesting.

A lot of "big name" transfers have apparently gone on under the radar.

Is this completed transfers only? Or all approaches?

Completed transfers only - there are no records of any approaches as these are between the two clubs concerned, so unless clubs are open and honest these approaches will always remain in the dark.

I'm not sure I see the issue with having more than two approaches. If a player is unhappy and wants to leave surely he should be free to do so and the 7 dayer is just a formality.

Karen, how does it work if two clubs agree the transfer without a 7 day approach?

Does the club he currently plays for cancel the registration, meaning he is free to sign for another club?

I do not the workings of other clubs, but in our case once I was given the go ahead by my manager to release the players I send the club wishing to sign them a signed transfer form for them to print off and complete
