v Hayes & Yeading

Actually 3spirit what is happening is that the rest of us have acknowledged that we were rubbish first half and moved on to praise the comeback. You on the other hand prefer to go round in circles complaining. Guess you were short of things to complain about in the first few months so you have to go overboard now?

Great comeback, thought we were superb second half. To be honest I was surprised we took off Moone at half time but it certainly paid off and Gav looks like he hasn't been away. Two great finishes from our defenders too. We do need to stop putting pressure on ourselves to do it but these are games that we would certainly have lost in previous seasons.

Yes we do struggle against the lower teams, that's because generally they shut up shop and defend in numbers whereas the better teams try to play the ball and as a result create space for us to play. However we have a squad that never gives up and that is certainly beneficial in a season where we want to be looking up rather than down.

Onto Chesham and a ridiculously busy January with some very tough games.

One other thing, ARAAS, I wasn't surprised we took off Charlie Moone but thought you could have just as easily have taken off Chris Flood as Charlie Moone, as both had been ineffective first half.

Not that they got great service from our midfield !

Our managers made the right calls on the substuitions, as Putts was struggling on the right wing and Dobbo wasn't having a lot of joy on the left. Putting Putts on his favoured left side and putting Warren Harris on the right side gave our side a better balance [both defensively and offensively].

We needed power, strength and pace up front which Gav James duly supplied.

Nice Christmas present.

A regulation 2-0 Win would have been a bit flat. Instead we had great entertainment and this team got another confidence jab that it ain't over till it's done !

Proof also of the need to close games out. Hayes could have gone in 3 up and that might well have been game over but 2 is never enough at half time. It's the score at full time that counts.

We have come back several times from 2 down now this season to get draws and wins. That must be in our opponents minds as well as ours.

Clearly we are not going to be the sort of side to grind out 1-0 wins week in week out and bore our opponents into submission, so let's just enjoy the ride.

Of course I'd always rather win but I come to freezing cold real football matches to have the emotional roller coaster ride you can't get watching the Prem on Sky.

Getting my money's worth at the moment.

Roll on Chesham.

Played brilliant at Banbury and lost, Just saying !!!

Ooops airy fairies .... Not sure how well that will go down

As Dick Emery said 'You are awful but I like you' ! ha ha !

Actually Sue, when I said 'airy fairies'  I was referring to the lightweight, prancing, mythical creatures, and not insinuating anything about Slough footballer's love lives !

All ifs, buts and maybes.

Had we been playing a 'better' side would we have come back having been 2 (or 3 goals down). We dont know.

Had we been playing a 'better' side and were two up, then find ourselves on the end of a comeback (it happens). We would have complained why did we take our foot of the pedal and what the hell did the managers say (or not say) to motivate the players at half time.

Had they had another 10 minutes, would Kettering have made a comeback to 3-3 recently (who knows)

I dont remember anyone moaning about our first half performance at Ketting in the play off final ........

That is what makes us all love football.

I think we all get how poor we were in the first half against H&Y. Don't quite get why some are so adamant on going over the same negative point post after post.

Lets make our point (which we are all entitled to), but not harp on about it......

I took a mate with me on Monday who hasnt seen Slough in a few years and he said that was the best enteratinment he has has seen at a game in a long time (and will return, hopefully Chesham game). Lets all move forward positively together.

Fair points,Cippenham Rebel.

The reason for repeating points going over the facts is that everybody has the right to reply and get an answer back to their post. Sometimes this takes longer to achieve !

The Chesham game should be a corker, in theory. Two very good footballing sides going hammer and tong on 3g should be a delight. CR, hope your friend can get to this one[as well as you].

Now I've said that it will probably end up a 0-0 draw ! ha ha !

Just want to make a couple of extra points that myself and Unders were discussing last night! We have only dropped points twice from winning positions this season, away to Basingstoke when we went down to 10 men early and away at Merthyr who are unbeaten at home!

Also the only sides we have dropped points to in the bottom half are Stratford (0-0) Basingstoke (4-1) and Kings Langley (2-2) ! We have won all the other games!

I was stood down the other end for the second half and saw John`s and Neil`s faces when they came back out early for the second half before the team came back out! I wouldn`t have wanted to be in that dressing room judging by their faces!!  Also anyone else got an opinion about their disallowed goal for offside, it looked like the player crossed it backwards but the player that knocked it in was given offside.  It felt good telling him that it was disallowed as he celebrated infront of me though!!  Also Andy Leese was stood behind me first half! Hopefully he only stayed for the first half!!

Neil,

What that highlights more than anything else is how important it can be to score the first goal.

When we have scored first we are W11 D1 L1

When we have conceded the first goal we are W5 D2 L3

(the other match was goalless with Stratford).

Terry Brown as well but heavily disguised with his bobble hat on

One thing is for certain they used stronger words than 'airy fairies'
