v Hayes & Yeading

Agree. Xmas often throws up surprises and it will be a leveller on the Beaconsfield pitch. There are quite at few ex Kings Langley players in the H&Y squad now and we know what to expect from them!! However, if we want to remain near the top we have to be clinical with these games.

Some of us will be at the White Horse Hedgerley for a drink after the game. Supporting one of the programme advertisers, All welcome,

I know it won't be overly helpful for you Marcus but i have said to Kay that we would want the match ref to make a decision, as the forecast for 3pm should mean the pitch will not be frozen, however if we have an early inspection it will possibly be called off...

And we want to do all we can to get the game on.

Fair enough- makes sense Neil. Will have to make a decision on travel on guesswork at 1ish. If anyone is in area or even at ground and could give any impressions it would be appreciated as the m25 is going to suck. And not overly keen on wasted journey. Cheers

Bright blue sky and sun burning frost off roofs and cars at 11 am in burnham area. My garden is frosted but will take a stud already. Over the years at SYCOB it's been a very reliable proxy for the holloways pitch so I expect game to be fine. Good luck all those on a journey !

A real game of two halves.

first half was probably the worst i've seen all season. Nobody looked where they were passing, saying it was hit and hope would be an understatement. Defensively we were poor as well, letting them through most of the time and with Mark Scott struggling to keep his kicks inside the ground.

Second half was polar opposite. Two subs made at half time who both made a huge impact, Warren Harris gave us some width and stability on the right hand side and Gavin James gave us a target up front and tireless chasing to pressure the H&Y defence into mistakes. Togwell was desperately poor in the first half but he was back to his normal self in the second half, finding most of his targets and pressed the opposition at every opportunity.

Nisbet got our first goal after volleying in from a Putman free kick wide right. Sean Fraser, yes Sean Fraser, got the second goal after driving into the box and hitting a cross/shot which got a slight deflection to take it past the keeper. Gavin James got the deserved winner for his effort today, took it past a few defenders and just as it looked like he had done too much he cut it back onto his left and hit it hard and low bottom corner.

Sean Fraser 3 goals in 199 games. 2 in a season !!!

It should be said that whilst we were poor in the first half Hayes and Yeading played well and deserved their 2 goals.

Gavin James MotM !

When this team is 2-0 down its absolutely expected that they will win. How things have changed.More significantly after Leamingtons poor showing yesterday no team in the league has lost fewer points this season than the Rebels Several months ago I invited all forum members to come up with a persuasive reason why Slough couldnt be champions None did then and Im sure this improved squad will be hard to finish higher than.

Most definitely a game of two halves. As good as H&Y were and poor we were in the first half, we were good second half and they looked a different side in the second. Baker wasnt a happy chappy walking off at half time. Sure I heard something said from one of our fans to him, but missed exactly what.

The two subs at half time made the difference. Their 'stable' defence looked shaken when Gavin came on, couldnt handle him.

Funniest bit of the second half, their mouthy right back trying to take a throw in in the wrong place (three times).

Big win today, well done Rebels !!!

Edit: reading the programme tonight, didnt realise how many of their players who played against us on our Arbour return are no longer with the club.

Well I hope what was said to Neil by one of our fans was nice, if not they should be ashamed of themselves!!

No we didn't play well in the first half and I'm sure EVERYONE was aware of that, but by god they made up for it in the second half, that's what I love about these boys they keep on fighting showed that at Chippenham and again today xx

From where I was standing I don't know if Sean's shot took a deflection but from his comments he said he just put his head down and lashed it at goal so definitely wasn't a cross/shot.
