Having introduced the disability football team alongside Danny Turner to Slough Town FC in November 2014 and seen the club embrace the side it is great that they are now an integral part of the Rebels. After Danny emigrated to Yorkshire Alan Meredith took over as manager and the team has come on magnificently. So thanks to Kay Lathey for all her work in getting the team affiliated to the main club which enabled the PALS to enter and compete in the BOBi (Berks, Oxon and Bucks) Inclusive League, thanks to Steve Easterbrook for his support and thanks to Alan for his great work. The players are proud to be representing the club and a number of them and their parents now attend Rebels matches on a regular basis. I attended the Para-Olympics in 2012 and watched with awe the fantastic efforts of the wheelchair basketball teams - a combination of skill, bravery and outright commitment. Without the Rebels nomination I think my thoughts would have turned to voting for the Thames Valley Wheelchair Basketball Club.

Finally as has been recorded previously we use Slough Community Transport to get to the tournaments. This is funded from some of the monies collected from the walk to Dorchester 2 seasons ago (thanks to Kay again, Mark Radford etc. ) and by the use of a volunteer driver.
