V Chippenham 6th December

Ok So we are having a little glitch but we need to remember how well we've been doing away from home. Look at the form table for last 4,6 and eight away games and we are 1st 1st and 2nd Chippenham didnt play well or score in their recent abandoned game with Chesham and lost to Cinderford conceding 3 goals in their previous game A lot of people seeing that result thought they had not played a full strength team but no that was their best available team I think it will come down to who has the more positive attitude and belief and we have no reason to consider ourselves underdogs imo.

It’s vital that we score the first goal in our upcoming matches. In November we conceded the first goal in 6 of our 8 matches and went on to win 1 draw 2 and lose 3, with the two games we scored first we won both 2-0. We’ve only scored 3 goals in the first half during those 8 matches but have scored 7 after 70 minutes so slow starts but strong finishes, part of this of course is many home matches we have needed time to break down stubborn opponents.

With the forecast for the weather to get slowly warmer tomorrow we shouldn't need to worry about the pitch being frozen or anything.

We should go to Chippenham with no fear or expectation I think. Attack right from the off and just be aggressive and try to get some shots on target early on.

Wow! Only following on twitter byt what a great point. It sounded like everything was against us Harris off injured, Scott hampered by injury, 3-1 down. Have a penalty brilliantly saved and still have the guts and character to battle back for the draw. Superb. COYR

Finished 3-3 with Hollis, Dunn and Moone getting the goals. Again we conceded first but again we fought back to get a very good point.

From Adrian's very vocal frustrations about the referee it sounds like yet again we had a poor ref.

I would have happily taken a point before the game stated.

Hopefully Mark Scott will be OK, has time to recover with our next game not being until 17th.

22 games and 46 points can we make it 50 points before new year???

Listened on Rebels Radio.Great character shown after the Frome game.Still conceding early goals is very frustrating.Would have settled for a point before the game.Pity about the missed penalty, but Moone making amends at the end.Played an hour with virtually 10 men after Scott's injury.Hope its not too serious , as he has 11 days till the next game.I love this club. Must admit I wasn't confident at 1-3 down but massive credit again to the players for their hunger and hard work to grab an important point. Shame Leamington won meaning they're now 6 points clear and in a way it's frustrating we're now not playing for 10 days but maybe the rest will do the team good especially if Scotty needs to recover. Maybe we'll also have a new player in by the next match... ?

What a comeback from the rebels!

With Mark Scott injured and Warren Harris going off early in the game it really looked like an uphill battle.

After conceding early and then going 3-1 down the odds were stacked against us coming away with anything from the game but yet again we showed the resilience and character to pull it back to 3-3 and grab a share of the spoils.

Bloody brilliant!!

Was a poor first goal to give away direct ball good run but seemed too easy and taken brilliantly in fairness

We didn't produce too much first half and had a few scares but thought we had done reasonably well to get to ht 1-0 especially after picking up a few knocks. A huge blow when mark Scott got caught late after rushing out to clear a challenge that didn't warrant a talking to even according to the perplexing ref

We had a brief spell before half time that lifted us a bit and 2nd half we seemed to have a bit more purpose. Corner routine worked well and allowed Nisbet to take down a deep cross and tee up Hollis to fire in via a deflextion it seemed

Having a keeper with 1 leg lead to 2-1. Free kick looked a dive and the delivery escaped everyone to go straight in past a helpless Scott

Pen for them I didn't see was handball I believe and Scott was on hiding to nothing in goal really

Briefly it hit us a bit confidence wise but we found away to dig in and keep fighting a pullback cross fell to Dunn who squeezed a shot home I think again a deflextion

Our pen was much pushing and shoving going on from a long throw and seemed confusion between both sets of players what had been given. Moone kick was struck quite well but a savable height and was great save onto bar then clawed away

Fair play to Mooney though when chance came to make amends he made no mistake to grab an incredible comeback point

Fair play defence protected Scott pretty well 2nd half but he did make a 1 on 1 stop and hopped alone goal line to push away a dangerous free kick from edge of box. Smart did great when coming on left back for stoney late on as well

Epic performance by the boys to show the fight against a top 4 team to deny them what should have been a home win with our keeper on 1 leg

I'm not going to say much about the poor ref or the deliberate over the top tacking by Chippenham with the intent to hurt or scare off our players...

Our boys did us proud against all the odds and whilst we could have won a point is a great result from the position we were in.

Not worried out points or our position in the league, if we play as well as we can I'm happy.

Great performance, with only two downsides, one our injuries, two my voice ?.

Let's hope the break is enough time to get our injured players back to full fitness.

Very pleased with the teams comeback in the second half, I think Lewis Putman coming on helped to change the course of the game and kept us on the front foot for the latter part of the game, we finished with eleven hero's, very proud to be a Rebel tonight, hope hero No1 (Mark Scott) makes a speedy recovery.

PS  Well done Radders with the cheerleading.

Non League football at its very best apart from I think we can all agree a very poor referee who seemed to book fairly minor transgressions compared to others he ignored. The worst was of course the foul on Mark Scott which left him hobbling for the rest of the game. Congratulations to Mark on an heroic performance and to all the team for transcending the difficulties with the referee and putting in a great 2nd half performance after what had been a poor show in the first half. Talking to some Chippenham supporters after the game there was unanimity regarding the referee and they were full of praise for the Rebels performance.

Well, what a roller coaster type game that was ending on a massive high that must have felt like a win for the team.

1st half we continued to struggle like Saturday against Frome and with tackles that were dangerous being ignored and the injury to Mark Scott after 30 mins or so we were lucky to go in only 1-0 down. Then the fun started......

2nd half we still didnt play that well but were grinding out chances and from our first corner, Guy "the goal machine" Hollis popped up with 1. That seemed to spur on Chippenham and with Scotty on 1 leg it was always going to be tough. I actually think the 2nd goal for Chippenham doesnt happen if Scotty is fit as Mark Nisbet (who had his worst game in a Slough shirt IMO) could have laid the ball back to him as opposed to squaring it to their forward and then fouling him. The free kick was decent but i feel a fit Scotty comes out and catches it. The pen was tough as due to the numerous posts in the stand i couldnt see it, but those around me that did said it was hand ball. At 3-1 down and half a goalie it really did look like it was game over but the boys dug in so well and worked so hard for each other in the end with the saved pen and Elijahs missed header we could have actually won the game.

The ref was an absolute disgrace. You know you have had a bad game as a ref when both sets of players, both sets of fans and both sets of benches all think you were rubbish. His total lack of ability as a ref makes it amazing that he is ablw to ref at our level. I have no idea if sides have any way of reporting on the officials but if they do we should be giving that guy the lowest mark possible.

The rest now until the Kettering game i think will be a massive positive for us as a side and then an equally long gap between Kettering and H+Y could come at the right time to allow some of our guys to have a good rest and recover from some of the injurys and niggles they must be carrying hopefully then to be ready for a massive 3-4 months for the team and the hunt for the league title.

Well done to all involved last night, stuck to the task fantastically well and certainly a point gained rather than 2 lost.
