Eddie unless Tony has changed a lot not sure his attitude would sit well with our two managers or us supporters to be honest.

While Tony Mendy's attitude might suck, he's got a good goal scoring record and perhaps with an the ex Premiership player to guide him as his manager, he just might buckle down and prove his mettle.

We shall have to see on that score.

 

Leatherhead have also signed Louis Wells [goalkeeper] from Hayes and Yeading.

Tony Mendy, the only player that, with no-one within 30 yards of him, could tackle himself out for a throw in LOL.

I saw Tony Mendy play a few times at Chalfont last season...... he was in good form, scoring regularly, looked like a team player and happy.

 

I wish him every success at Leatherhead and hope Jimmy Bullard can help him achieve his full potential.

Strange how football works.

The reset button is always available and can be pushed anytime.

At the start of the season I expect nearly everyone including me would bite your hand off for the position we will be in at Christmas.

And yet with all the exitement of new ground, going top and great football ... Ping the reset button is pushed and now we are all feeling a bit deflated after the last couple of weeks.

I think that perversely the last couple of weeks have been important learning for the team and they are now more battle hardened to really perform in the business end of the season.

Yes the injuries have been a blow , the form has deserted a few people and we are on a bit of a rollercoaster but we are still up there and have dragged some games back from the brink.

We can live with the best even when not playing well.

When we do play well I don't think anyone can live with us.

Luck in football evens out over a season. If we get an injury free run second half season to make uP for what we have had first half then we will be contenders.

Shows they mean business. Hope we can get someone proven, though that won't be easy to do, unless you part with big bucks to get one. 

We may have to look lower down either from the Central or the South and West etc and take a chance on someone. Sometimes you get lucky.

 

 

Obviously with roughly half the season gone, whether it's a proven goal scorer or someone from a lower division, we need someone to hit the ground running if we want to achieve our aims.

 

As a thought, part of the remit of getting Tom Williams on board was that his football contacts could come in very useful for the run in for promotion. Perhaps now would be a very useful time for that to happen?
