Reading Rebel
Tough game tomorrow against a Frome team that we seem to struggle to get any sort of result against. A game where we'll have to be clinical in front of goal and take any chances that come our way to get the points.

staines_rebel_Jr
Is today's game a safe bet for a win, or a Frome loss?!?! Tough match today against a usually quite aggressive and nasty Frome side who look to make the most of any advantage. Really hope we have a strong referee who sticks to the rules and doesn't let Frome get away with too much unlike in previous matches, but hoping for a good referee st this level might be a big ask. Slough have shown how tough they are mentally recently and will need to continue doing so in what will be a tough match but hopefully once again our ability and team work will shine through to maintain our impressive home record. staines_rebel_Jr
I'm sure lots of people will talk about the Frome players and the ref, but simply put we were not good enough today and didn't deserve anything. We were second all over the pitch and struggled to keep possession and create any chances, I might be wrong but other than the penalty not sure their keeper had any saves to make. We need to put this game behind us and move on to what will most likely be one of the toughest games this season away to Chippenham.
SloughFlyer
100% not good enough today. Conversely to many games this season i dont think there was a MoM today, too many poor performances across the pitch. Ref didnt have a great game but didnt have an impact on the result and i didnt think the Frome players were a patch on Hitchin or Kings Langley for their antics. We just didnt pass the ball around or create anything meaningful at all today and got what we deserved. Depending on how you look at it, it was either a good time to lose a game due to the other results around us or a bad time given we missed a chance to close the gap on Lemington and extend it over the other teams. With MK Dons drawing today i assume we dont have the game on 13th December now due to their replay, so a nice 11 day rest between Tuesday and the Kettering game i think will do us the power of good. Allow those nursing injuries to rest and everyone to recover a bit as i think we look a bit jaded at the moment. Still going well though and it doesnt matter what team you play in this league there are no easy games, so to be in this position with 2 games to go to half way and things are certainly looking up. Sir Rebel1965
1 shot 1 goal says it all. If we want to be in the top 5 at the end of the season you have to win this type of home game.

Agree with most of what you say SF except the 'looking jaded bit'. We weren't at the races from the kick off so I don't think being jaded comes into it. I don't normally agree with people when they say 'the other team wanted it more' but after seeing today's game I'm finding it difficult to disagree with that opinion. When we play Mk Dons most of their players will come from their Academy, so not sure why the game has to be cancelled as their Academy does not have a game on that Tuesday. Curtis
Shockingly poor performance today all round..... I didn't understand the choice of team selection, why we were second to just about every ball in the first half, or why we lost almost every 50/50. First half was the worst I have seen from us all season, hopefully we will get back to playing with two genuine centre backs and two genuine strikers soon. Reading Rebel
Absolutely gutted by our non-performance from 1-11 today. Having said that I think we have to cut the players some slack and move on because we have a massive game at Chippenham on Tuesday where the players have the chance to put today's performance behind them. I can understand why, Elijah apart, we started with the same 11 as Tuesday, but in hindsight (which of course is a wonderful thing) IMO Mark Nisbet should have been in the starting 11. At times today you could hear a pin drop and I think we desperately missed his leadership and experience at the back. I think today's game also highlighted even more that we are in desperate need of another top striker to give us options.

Reading Rebel
When will lee Barney and Gavin James be fit and back? as they are needs asap. In the Frome write up it was stated that Lee Barney is no closer to a return and Gavin James is a possibility to play a part in the MK game but will take some time to get match fit. HEAVY TRUCKER
why oh why do we insist in playing long ball when we are under the cosh. i can understand clearances /goal kicks but general play ? we now have a pitch which allows us to play the ball down on the deck ( a thing that when we were at beaconsfield everybody said we could not do because the surface was not good enough) now we cannot use that excuse when at home, we are not a long ball side we are not that accurate in our passing ability to be able to play that game. more short passing more movement which means we have to up our work rate,. today this was not evident, we were second to everything we seemed very lethargic, perhaps some very strong coffee before kick off and at half time might be the anawer who knows but we have to find an answer soon. Mr Rebel
Really bad day at the office. Frome to their credit pressed us energetically and disrupted us off our game. Saying that they haven't created much at all and we have still found ourselves 2-0 down just like Kings Langley. We are conceding first and giving ourselves too much to do and yet it isn't as if we are being totally outplayed and allowing teams hat-fulls of chances. We seem to be struggling to find the consistency that we had during our great winning run but not many teams are winning a lot in this league at the moment if you look at the form table 4 teams have 13 from last 6. 2 teams have 11 and 4 teams including us have 10 points. No need to be panicked by the loss yesterday. On note of officials we really need to stop feeling hard done by by the officials inconsistencies and ineptness and start to embrace it. So many teams know what kind of things they will likely give or not give at this level and exploit it.
RebelDelaney
Rebel1965 Super Kev was asked at half time by supporters near me about Barney his answer implied along way off. With Gavin back training last Thursday which managers implied on the Frome preview it was said he would not be rushed back.
