The Office Xmas Special

After watching Friday night's 1st part I was a little disappointed. The only bit that made me laugh (weakly) was at the end when the "blind date" contestant got Brent a second time, with his own beer.

Did anyone else see it?

I hope that last night's one was merely setting up Saturday's episode; and that Part 2 is gonna be a cracker! Let's see.

I LOVE 'The Office', though 'Er Indoors can't stand it !

 

Anybody who has worked in the new age, Americanised type of office environment can identify with it !

 

I swear I've 'met' most of the characters, David Brent, especially, in a former employment !

They're going to continue it in america but ricky gervais has refused to let them put recorded laughter into it.

I thought the Christmas special was great. The way the second episode ended was superb. Dawn and Tim, David finally telling Finchy what's what, excellent stuff.

I think the 2nd part was good, Badger; although I'm wondering how much the "feel good factor" with regard to Tim & Dawn might have persuaded me to this conclusion. I've taped it (like everyone else probably) and am going to watch it again.

Although Brent is a first class to55er, it was nice to see him stand up for himself proper (with Finchy) and meet a woman who actually thinks he's funny.

Idea: Fly-on-the-wall documentary; Brent & his "new bird" at home. Or celebrity Wife Swap?

Having watched Part II, I realised why I learnt early in my working career, to moderate my alcohol intake at the customary Christmas party. I only made a prat of myself once, and after that, enjoyed watching other members of staff getting totally pi**sed and then providing the 'entertainment'

 

Great stuff - Ricky Gervais studied Philosophy, and it shows !!
