Vs Banbury

I thought we managed the game really well tonight and showed much more composure and patience breaking down another team that look to have come to us for the draw. Substitutions were spot on and no one deserved a goal more than Guy Hollis who really led from the front tonight. I do think we need more from our forwards but tonight was a much needed shot in the arm for our league campaign and another win on Saturday will have us right back in the title hunt. COYR!

A very pleasing performance from all. I was worried when the leamington game was called off as it put a lot more pressure on, had we failed to win we would have lost our games in hand and been cut adrift still. Instead we are now breathing right down their necks again.

On Saturday leamington host Hitchin so here's hoping they can drop points in the title race

The fact that people are struggling to agree a mom is similar to when we were on our good run.

It was a good Team performance where everyone looked as if they knew their job of work and they executed it well.

Patience and options with the ball, shape and position without it, were the key last night.

Some hard running out there and a few sore legs at work today I bet , but worth it when you win!

Not a terrible night for Leamington last night as merthyr lost only their third game meaning Leamington are on their own on just 2 defeats. Barring weather postponements they now have 5 games in the run to Christmas , more than any other side at the top. Apart from Hitchen they are not tough games and with other top sides playing each other they could well be 10 or 12 points clear at Christmas but will have played 3 more games than us.

Nothing we can do about it just go out and get 3 points Saturday.

Thought Banbury were a good side, played nice football from keeper through to attack. Unfortunately for them but good for us they didn't really threaten to score, which can be attributed to our teamwork and defence. They weren't able to exert enough pressure when they had to after falling behind.

Thanks to the 3G it's a joy to watch some of the skills on display and nearly 500 there on a bitterly cold night. Potential for a better crowd Saturday hopefully and a chance to finally beat Frome at home!

It was a tough battle of a match in which chances weren't easy to come by and credit to Banbury they defended well for the most part

Our defence was much more solid than the Wingate game and apart from 1 scare when Scott came out to block and their attacker had a shot at the unguarded goal that went a long way wide I don't really remember many Banbury chances

We stuck at it very well and finally found the breakthrough a great cross by Fraser and put away well by Hollis.

That breakthrough allowed us a bit more space and we looked very dangerous on the break from then on.

Bit of fortune with the 2nd goal deflecting perfectly into the other top corner but maybe Dobbo got bored of scoring free kicks the conventional way and was experimenting  B)

Vital win. A ground out win. A very important win and great passion shown when we scored the goals by the players again. You can see this group definitely believes we can achieve big this season

I'd say finally beat Frome full stop!

Certainly been a bit of a nemesis for us since we've been in the Southern premier.

The other good thing about the win last night is im sure Banbury may well take points off of some of our rivals at the top as they did with us earlier in the season so a good 3 points all around

I believe they did the double over Chippenham already this season. But lost twice to Dunstable, beaten once by Hitchin (A) and drew with Merthyr (H)
