Swifty
I don't think we'll win the Central Division this season. Another out of sorts performance against a Northwood team who weren't much above average but played the game in the right spirit and took both their goals very well. It could have been different had we taken advantage of a fifth minute penalty, but Bitz clipped the top of the bar. Seven minutes later we were shown how to finish a dead ball with a superb 'keeper no chance' 20 yard free kick curled into the top corner by Louis Stead. We tried, but the cohesion and, indeed, some of the confidence, has disappeared. Kam put in a couple of superb crosses which were crying out for a final touch, but it got to the stage where we were arguing with each other on the pitch before half time. Northwood worked a wonderful team goal in the 53rd, hit low across Kav and into the far corner from ten yards by full back Louis Bircham, and you just knew we'd lost the game. Early in the season we'd have rolled our sleeves up and given it a go, but it wasn't until some very late substitutions that we showed the spark and believed in ourselves. Woods keeper Montel Joseph made a cluster of good tipovers during the game which prevented us from scoring, and a number of players (Kam, Russ and Samad in particular) never gave up, but it wasn't to be. Delighted to have a good chat before kick off with the TV and radio colussus that is David Hamilton, who kept his promise to come and watch us. 'Diddy' also does the matchday announcements for Fulham, which made me feel a bit of pressure with the mic today to put it mildly!
manurgrate
We have hit a rough patch in the season and are playing without much confidence. However we have the talent to bounce back. You have to give credit to Northwood's No 6 who scored an absolute belter from a free kick to open the scoring. In all honesty, after the penalty miss, we didn't look like scoring. ashford follower
I honestly don't know what s happened is it confidence ? or is it something else we don't look like scoring unless its a pen or free kick then we need 10 attempts to score 1not working as a team the last few games, we have been out worked out played and out thought, lucky for us the results have gone in our favour otherwise we would have fallen down the table big time,
