Finished 2-1.

Chippenham lost 3-2 to Cinderford

Hitchin lost 2-0 to Chesham

Merthyr 1-1 Leamington

Great win for us, plus the bonus of other result's going our way.

Who would have thought bottom club Cinderford would beat Chippenham !

Excellent 2nd half after a 1st half we struggled to click into much of note in final third

Poor marking for their goal and their guy took full advantage with a decent header

Stratford had some quick attackers but didn't particularly create much of note for rest of the game

2nd half we kept the ball better and slowly built more and more pressure. As we have come accustomed too now Stratford looked to work the ref, waste time when they could and manage the game with little intention to attack other than on the break

I didn't feel we had created a great deal but in a flash the game turned on its head. Long throw by Hollis was flicked on and hooked into the corner on the turn by Harris for 1-1

Chipped through ball minutes later was taken down brilliantly by Elijah and finished with ease sparking a huge celebration by just about the whole team. Elijah got booked for hugging the crowd and Putman even stole a slough hat from a fan to celebrate. Really showed the passion of these players and delight of finding a much needed lead

We saw the game out with no real scares and completed what was a hugely needed win

Standout performance for me was probably Hollis who dealt with their pact attackers fantastically.

A few had off days slightly but maybe partly due to the surface being a lot more challenging that we used to. Sub's made showed we have some good options when called on

I didnt think it would be that close Stratford have now taken 2/18 points recently but all wins are good and another 3 points and hopefully our mini-glitch is over We still are in an excellent position and I still believe we are among the small group who can be champions Sometimes a better picture is revealed if you look at how many points a team has lost so far in the season Leamington have lost 14 Slough on 15 just one more Chippenham 18 Hitchin 19 and Merthyr 22 We are very much in the hunt.

Great win and confidence boost. Looked a bit out of sorts losing Charlie in the warm up and going what should have been 4-3-3 but it felt more like just one up front. Really stuck to the task in 2nd half against side who were just trying to defend their lead and maybe catch us on the break with a long ball hoof. Kept the ball well and pushed and probed into their solid defence. Credit to the managers who made non obvious substitutions to mix it up and we scored immediately from Gary,s flick at a long throw and Harris got the equaliser.Elija took his goal well and we never looked like losing it after that.

Great set of results elsewhere as well and a fun cup game tomorrow night as well

Start of a good week?

Hitchin have dropped 26 points this season!!

Big win and totally dominant second half.... was not going to respond to a few comments about the Kings Langley game, but ends up being a really big point in the end, having backed it up with the win last night.

As proved last night with the Cinderford v Chippenham game you are not going to get it all your own way in this league, and more often than not we are going to have to battle to win, but I am sorry anyone questioning players desire or the want to win (the league) are very wide of the mark, all the lads really care (including Elijah) as proved last night.

Funnily enough we had a good conversation with Tom Williams after the game on Saturday who at this stage can still be quite objective as he does not know all the lads etc and has not seen us at the top of our game yet, and he was still really complimentary about our performance Saturday (and someone extremely well qualified to give an opinion on a game of football) even at 2-0 down which was totally unjust, he said the lads did not panic and kept going trying to pass the ball, and we showed great character in adversity to get something from a game that should have been gone.

Just to empasise how far we have come this season :

we have now played 27 competitive games, we have won 19, drawn 4 and lost 4, that is just over a 70 per cent win ratio.

So all I ask is when things don't quite go our way in games as they will do so this season (especially at times at home when you as fans really can be a twelfth man), instead of getting on the lads backs or looking at reasons why things did not happen show how together the club is and really get behind the lads.... A positive can provide a positive, whereas the same can be said of a negative.

Bit like our travelling fans did last night, who by the way were excellent.... didn't hear anything negative last night and continued to back the lads, even though at 73 minutes we were still behind.

This is a long tough and relentless season, just remember that the lads we have our all semi pro players, but are proud to wear the shirt and will give everything they have for us to be successful for the club....

Well stated Neil. I thought after perhaps a slow start we were brilliant last night and losing Charlie just before the game didn't help matters. I think from now on I will have to have chips and curry sauce before each game - I did so before the Redditch match and we won. Had some last night and remarked on this before the k.o. and we won again. The problem is Charlie getting injured each time so on second thoughts - perhaps not! Talking of pride in the club the Slough Town PALS who were with us last Saturday for the half time photo call are really delighted to be representing the club. Alan Meredith is doing a great job in managing/coaching them with back up from Kay Lathey.. A number of the players and their parents are now regular Rebels supporters. So COYR and COYRP!

Leave off Neil, 70% win ratio, thats just not good enough ;)

Its great too see that even when we are falling behind in games we are sticking too it and getting results. Fantastic start to the season thus far, now is the time of year that things will get really tough and looking at the team and squad as a whole, we are in excellent shape to be right up there come the end of the season.

I think you're right in most respects SF.

My only concern currently is our striking options. With no sign of Barney and Gavin James returning from injury anytime soon, Charlie Moone seemingly prone to picking up the odd injury and Elijah due to go back to Fulham very shortly, scoring goals could potentially become a problem for us.

I certainly hope that our 7 day approach for a striker comes to fruition.

I think stats in respect of number of points gained, position in league table etc are proving to be pretty meaningless.

I certainly expected a very tough and close game last night and so it proved.

Anyone who saw the celebrations from pretty much the whole team when we took the lead will have zero doubt about how much these players care. They all knew what a hugely important win it would be

No team will let us have it our own way. In many ways our winning run has made us targets for teams looking to exploit every trick they can to put us off our game but it comes with being a top team which we now are.

Our leap from lower table to where we are now has been huge this season and sure its frustrating when we don't play our best but its tough not to believe in this squad now
