I know it's the season of good will and there was plenty of that on show today but please don't make out that Spencer is the messiah who would of changed the course of the result he is not that good Hakki is the player who we are missing

Having Spencer in the side probably wouldn't have changed the result, but it would probably have helped us compete. As it was we created nothing. Our goal was a complete fluke.

I too prefer Spencer in midfield rather than the wing, but wherever he plays he adds vision that no one else has.

I'm with Radders on this one. Without Spencer we really struggle to make any chances at all.

yes spencer can put a gretat ball in, but he loses the ball too often in great positions, doesn't track back, will never make a tackle. One decent cross and ten losses of possession aren't what you want or expect in this division.

Oh and Spencer wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference in today's game, because none of the first eleven or the subs looked like they wanted to win the game, just like every Slough player has all season, it was a f****** disgrace. Not losing, but not looking like they wanted to try to win the game...

Not saying that Spencer is the messiah, but the fact is Hakki is gone and we have competed against some of the better teams this season and the end of last season without him, Spencer is still at the club and as anonymous said he probably wouldn't have changed the result against Windsor but he sure would have helped give us some sort of creative edge which we didn't have from anyone on the day.

Agree but I think if Haddow is fit and playing to his ability then I believe he can be a real threat down the left with Steer just behind him. Wouldn't say no to a new signing though! Would probably favour Hyatt to Wilko on this season's form but saying that Hyatt has looked a bit off recently, then again so has everyone!

Problem is though, if Spencer is to play in the middle of the park he will need a ball winner alongside him. Given Barras form in the middle this season, Wilko is the best aggressive ball winning midfielder that we have and this would compensate for some of Spencers lack of work rate when tracking back.

Given the way Haddow has performed in the second half of his stay though, I think he'd edge Spencer for the central midfield role.

Haddow looks our best bet down the left - he's pacier than Danny Steer, although Steer does put some excellent balls in. In an ideal world though, I'd love us to sign two pacy wingers and two fullbacks to go back to 4-4-2 or at least a solid 5-3-2. By solid I don't mean playing Boot/Miller in midfield, because it doesn't work.

Three up front just does not work - yes we've scored more goals, but too often we see Hodge carrying the team when we're playing badly by drifting out to the wing and doing things in midfield that should be left to the midfield! He's a great targetman and needs to be in the box at every attack, with another striker lurking. We need one of the strikers (either Boot or Miller) to warm the bench and replace tired legs as the game wears on.

Personally I would like to see a centre back partnership, when fully fit, of Daly, Gyoury and Moller, with Glen Harris and Danny Steer/Barrowcliff/Haddow as wingbacks; then Spencer, Hyatt/Haddow and Wilkinson in midfield; and Hodge and Miller up front (on current form; we all know Tony Boot is a good striker and will prove this to us again in my opinion)

So why don't your supporters get down and watch them?! You have a fantastic team that's the best I've seen against Slough for a couple of seasons yet even today, the support was pitfiul. If there were 150 Windsor fans there I'd be surprised. A team of that ability and quality deserves better.

Well we may well have done our part to give them bigger attendences. There were 720 in there if you include complimentaries. Slough's attendances this season have been around 300. As you say probably 150 Windsor. So who are the remaining 270 going to choose to watch based on that perfromance?

A team that only scored thanks to an almighty [****!!****] up? Or a team that showed pace, passion and conviction?

If I had not already suffered from some major malfunction that has lead me to become a slough fan I know what I would choose.

I think you're wrong. I reckon there were at least 500 Slough Town fans there yeaterday; the 300 who turn up most Saturdays, plus other non-regulars who came along for the occasion and because it was a Bank Holiday. I wouldn't have thought you'd see more people coming to support WEFC on the basis of yesterday.

Let's not get too disheartened! We were just beaten by a damn good team and there's no disgrace in that.

I don't think there was any lack of effort. I think Windsor were just superior in all areas. Their anticipation was better, they won everything in the air and they were quick and incisive on the break. I don't think even Gilkes, Spencer, Hakki etc would have made any difference to the overall outcome yesterday.

Windsor and Lewes aside, we're as good as anyone else in this division which means it's only consistency that's stopping us getting 3rd or 4th. If we can work on that and avoid injuries, we'll be fine.

I certainly agree with the first part--we tried but were beaten by a much better team. As for the second part, I think we will know by the end of January----matches in January include playing Worthing (twice) Hampton, in form Tooting, and Walton(Away),who are in the hopefull pack.

In all fairness, we were unlucky not to pick anything up at Lewes, a stupid individual error cost us against Dulwich in which we looked the better side and I think we'll beat Walton.

Hopefully this mini break will give a chance for Gyoury, Barrowcliff, Spencer to shrug off injuries and Miller and Daly to shake off their knocks.

Alan Foster gifted the second goal, and if he would come off his line then he could have easily stopped the first goal. Another poor performance from the Slough Number 1.

Spencer wouldn't have won us the game, but think of Spencer and Bartley, which would you rather have....?

Steve Daly man of the Match, out of both starting 11's, only Daly would be on my team of the day from the Slough sheet.

Matt Miller was dreadful again Friday, Boot his usual self. Wilko and Hyatt had their spells but lost the ball and gave it away far to often.

Yes, our money probably has bought their squad and yes, i want Slough to do very well but at the end of the day good luck to Windsor, they didn't have to share their ground so Slough could stay local and i for one wouldn't be travelling to Hendon to watch Slough.

Windsor were excellent opponents. Stop going on about attendances and ground share money, because without Windsor we would be up Hendon creek without a paddle.
