Vs Kings Langley

Making it hard by the opposition to play your game is accepted by all, its the play acting falling about and time wasting that we are seeing more of is the big problem.

We have seen a few Oscars won this season by players making falls of themselves.

If clubs want to get bigger attendences is sort of thing has got to be stamped out.

Refs taking a harder stance early in the game by booking these players would be a good start.

Guess it depends how you define spoiling tactics.

I would say that Hitchin played good counter attacking football with Callum Donnelly using "spoiling tactics".

As with Stratford they just set up shop on the edge of their box and challenged us to break them down, which we couldn't do clinically enough.

Maybe there is something here around managing our expectations too.

We want to win every home game and we should (and do) go in to every game at AP believing we can win but the fact is we won't win every game.

No teams can win every week no matter how good they are. Take Man City as an example who have drawn at home against Middlesborough, Everton and Southampton in the last month.

As long as we win all our away games we'll be fine then ;)

Surely we should have been able to equal Arsenals invincibles home record from 03/04.

That's reasonable, right?

For me, Jon, it's not just the winning [ though I want us to win at home as much as we can ! ] It's how we play that matters.

We've assembled a great squad and I believe we have the right managers at the helm [ creep that I am ! ha ha !].

This season we shouldn't be aiming for the play offs, we should be aiming for the title !

We need to get the players thinking the same way.

There's no getting away from the fact, that the Gav James and Lee Barney injuries have hampered our progress of late and that we're asking a lot of an 18 year old loan signing,in the shape of Elijah Adebayo, to be the answer to our prayers.

He's got plenty of potential to go on to big things but has he got the desire to fight for the club, like our permanent players have?

On Saturday,in the second half,it appeared that his head had dropped, from getting little joy up front and then began to look off the pace, to fight for the ball.

That is always the problem with loan signings.

However, it wasn't just him alone that was at fault for Saturday's draw [which felt like a loss]. It was really down to attitude and players playing as individuals, rather than a team.

When we play our passing football, it is a joy to behold. On 3g there's no excuse for not trying it. We were poor in it's conception on Saturday and too many players , thought King's Langley were going to be easy to beat and as time went on, lost their way on their efforts to create anything worthwhile. The substitutions changed all that.

Of course, there are going to be games when we have to adapt our play and win ugly, this is when we need leaders on and off the pitch.

To be frank, one thing I did notice being a bystander, I thought too many voices were heard coming from our dugout on Saturday, that it would be pretty impossible for any player to understand who to follow instruction from, and who not to ie mixed messages.

So this wouldn't have helped on the day either.

Oh well let's hope for better from the team tonight.

Have to say 3spirit I disagree with pretty much everything in your post but that's why football is such a great game and stirs up such debate.

Will leave it there and concentrate on tonight's game!

I can take rejection ! ha ha !

Good luck for tonight, regardless of our difference of opinion.

One thing's for sure, we both want a Slough win.
