Burger!
HT. Lobsters 1 Balham 0 Goal on about 16 minutes few other good chances just needing some luck. Balham had a good break down the right and look a bit lively at times. Visiters are not going to make second half easy they look keen and disciplined. Time for a Burger. Burger!
FT. Lobsters 3 Balham 0 should have been six, could have been even more if it was not for the posts and bar. Couple of Balham defenders had a bit of shouting match which looked like it was going to develope. New lad from Bedfont and Feltom looks sharp and pacey. this was an important game to win, equal games played and l think may move us right up the table. Sixth? Burger!
Now up to 5th place with 3 games in hand over Sheerwater in 4th. AC London in 3rd (for how much longer?) so its hotting up, AC and Redhill the current top two form teams (last 5 games) Pitch is draining fantastically and you could not tell that there had been a rainy match on it Saturday. Welcome new players to the squad, Marcus Farr and Dan Bransbury who I think may have come from Bedfont and Feltham with our new first team coah Barry Wilde. Krooner
Popped along to HW to see their game v Melksham. HW dominated the early proceedings and took the lead with a strong shot that the keeper should really have saved. They went close again when the Melksham keeper nearly let a soft one in. As the half wore on Melksham came much more into the game and levelled with a superb strike but I am sure the HW management were not happy with him being allowed 5 touches before getting his shot off. 1-1 at half time was probably right. 2nd half was a bit quieter and Melksham won it with a well taken break away goal. To be honest HW never really looked like grabbing the equaliser and Melksham probably just about shaded the game. Real shame for the CCL and its clubs on the result. HW were probably the best chance the league have of getting someone really deep into the competition and for all the chasing clubs in the league it is another distraction out of HW's way to steamrolling the league !! Good luck to all the other CCL clubs remaining in the competition. Oh as an aside I would love for someone from the FA to speak with me and convince me that HW's ground isn't good enough to play one level higher ! Carthorse
Horley Town 4 Guildford City 1 After beating Guildford away 7-2 a couple of weeks ago Guildford were well up for this game and town were caught out and went one nil down after 22 seconds. Town soon came back though with a great goal from Alex Barbary who ran at the defence and planted a shot low and hard past Luke Badiali to make it one one. Its was soon two one to Horley when another good goal from Kerran Boylan meant it was two one to Town at half time. The second half saw Guildford on the attack again and keeper George Hyde pulled of three fantastic saves the first saw the Guildford supporters all cheering for a goal before Hyde pushed the ball round the post. Town added two more goal through Kerran Bowlan with his second and then sub Richard Wetton got the fourth on the night to do the double over Guildford. We have them again away in a couple of weeks in the Surrey Senior Cup! Must say again another good ref who let the game flow.
