Merthyr v Slough

The Merthyr fans forum now has a very fair and amusing report on the game We are dubbed the " Rebels without a pause" because we didnt stop playing and trying for 90 mins IMO we should be confident for the replay We will have injured/suspended players back Merthyr have a poor away record and its them who have to get to Slough from Merthyr on a Tuesday evening

Won't Merthyr have some players back?

As far as I'm aware we will have Mark Nisbet, Nathan Webb and Brad Hewitt available for selection and very possibly Warren Harris not available so not sure player availability will be a major factor.

It might just be me but I think the report from Boz is a bit cringe-worthy and not worthy of being called a report of the game.

Listening to rebels radio it seems we were second best in most departments in the first half and the better team in the second half.

Not sure why it seems to take a half time dressing down to come out fighting and produce what we know we are capable of in the second half.

Really looking forward to the replay and what should be an excellent attendance on Tuesday.

COYR!!!

Disagree we were second best all over the pitch, we created some good chances first half still, and felt two nil was harsh on us, we did not give them a dressing down, we just put over a few things to take on board, the biggest part was communication, however you have to remember Merthyr are a very good side at home, and at times played some excellent football.... however we seemed to find another gear second half, and really took the game to them...

We won't get our own way in every game, as there are many sides we are on a par with, however the lads showed excellent character and fully deserved to draw the game, and could possibly have edged it.

Unless I'm mistaken yesterday was the first time we've been behind at half time this season in what was our 24th competitive game. So I don't think 1st half performances are anything to get too worried about.

Talk about never being satisfied,Reading Rebel ! :)

I think Slough just getting a draw at Merthyr, after being hampered by only having one recognised centre half, is a superb result.

OK so we never played well in the first half but it's the result that matters.

By the way who was our stand in centre half, Nathan Smart or Sean Fraser?

RR Neil is right Merthyr are a top side playing at home we can not control the game for the whole 90 minutes with out them coming in to it as I said in previos post we were unlucky not to score early and when they got on top we still created chances.

You must stop commenting the way you do about a game if you are not there to watch it and not by heresay.

Do you believe the managers are the type to go in at half ranting and raging as you say I don't.

Merthyr have played 10 matches at home this season.

(In 90 mins): Won 7, Drawn 3, Lost 0,

Two of the three draws were against us. We will have to wait till the end of the season to see how good their home record really is but I would say we will have done very well.

RD, just to explain as you don't seem to have quite grasped the point.

When I cannot make a game and instead listen in to rebels radio and then make a comment on the forum about the game it will always be a general non specific comment based upon what I've heard on the radio.

By pointing out that my comment was based purely upon listening to rebels radio actually means that it may not be totally correct or in fact it could be totally incorrect and is open to correction by someone who has actually attended the game.

So if it's OK with you, in future if I cannot make a game and I make a comment based upon listening to rebels radio please feel free to correct me if you've been at the game and you think I'm wrong.
