Slough v Dorchester

Dorchester got a reasonable draw against Redditch yesterday but despite our injury concerns I still think we should have enough character in our team to get a positive result against them on Tuesday.

If we find ourselves without Paul Stonehouse at left back on Tuesday, I think we should consider playing James Dobson there for a one off game and putting 'Putts' back on the left wing.

Dobbo played at Harrow as a left back last season and it would be a better bet than moving a right back on to the left.

The team I would play if Togs and Stoney are out would be

                 Scott

Fraser  Hollis  Nisbet  Dobson

Jackman  Dunn   Webb  Putman

Harris  Moone.

If we can strengthen with a new forward ,then Wazza should go back onto the wing in place of Josh.

I think Stoney is definitely missing for Tuesday.

4-3-3

Scott

Jackman, Hollis, Nisbet, Dobson

Webb, Fraser, Dunn

Harris, Moone, Putman

Not a bad idea, SRJ.

Just can't see us changing from our preferred shape of 4-4-2, as why alter too much after just one defeat?

I must agree with 3 Spirit Although Dorchester have shown a bit of improvement lately (last 6 games W2D2L2) Their first 9 games were W1D2L6 Since the season began theyhave ranged between very poor and poor and are currently 17th Of course we must treat them with the respect all opponents deserve but I will be surprised and disappointed if we dont pick up the 3 points.

We saw Dorchester play earlier in the season against H+Y and pointing back to my comment on the B'Stoke thread, they are a poor side. We will need, as with everyside in this league, to treat them with respect, but we should be looking for an answer straight back from Saturday with a convincing win Tuesday night.

SF, yes we've got to go into the game with confidence, looking to bounce back from Saturday.

To call them 'a poor side' after seeing them once is probably a bit OTT.

They do look inconsistent in their performances but at times they have produced some decent results.

Irish, did you mean to say there results have ranged from very poor, poor and good?

The good being wins against Frome x2, H &Y, St Neots and Banbury with credible draws against Leamington and Stratford.

RR No not really none of their wins have been against any of the top teams and the table doesnt lie They are 17th for a reason There are a couple of other reasons why I am confident of a win First we have the best home record in the league having lost just 2 points and no team comes even close to our home goal difference for 13 against 1 Dorchester dont travel well only 3 sides right down the bottom of the table have lost more away games but football is a fickle game game so I can only predict what should happen we can only hope for the start of another unbeaten run

RR - Im not normally one to speak like this on a forum as we all know what opinions are like, but im basing my opinion of them being a poor side on seeing them play once, as opposed to basing it on results. Now, if you have seen them play more than once, i bow to your greater knowledge of them not being a poor side, but as we know from Saturday, results dont always tell the story of the game or show a team to be good bad or indifferent. Having seen Dorchester play this season, trust me, they are a poor side.

SF, I've not seen Dorchester this season and obviously you have the advantage of having seen them.

You're right in respect that results don't always tell the story of how a team has played i.e. how good, poor or indifferent they are.

On the flip side teams can put in poor performances in some games and not look so poor in others.

Not casting doubt on your judgement for one minute just saying first viewings as well as results can sometimes be misleading.

Personally wouldn't want to see Dobbo at left back as he's been our best attacking threat going forward in recent weeks either scoring or creating. Presuming stonehouse and togwell don't make it my line up would be;

Scott

Jackman

Hollis

Nisbet

Fraser

Harris

Webb

Dunn

Dobson

Moone

Putman
