Canvey Island v Enfield Town

littlehampton

Recommended Posts

After an excellent result at Kingstonian earlier in the week, Town will travel in confident mood to The Frost Financial Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) to face Canvey Island in the Ryman Premier Division.

This is a reverse fixture of our opening match of the season at the QE2 Stadium, when Tyler Campbell popped up with a late equaliser to secure us a deserved share of the points in a 1-1 draw.

Last season we came away empty-handed from Canvey, following a 2-0 defeat. In the return match we balanced the books with a 2-1 home victory, with a brace from Tyler Campbell. Another tight match in prospect tomorrow, but Town will be hoping to put one over The Gull's, before we host them next weekend in The FA Trophy.

All the very best to Brad and boys tomorrow. Hopefully, we will deliver another spirited performance, to chalk up our second away win of the week.

Good luck everyone. Enjoy the match!

Full-time   Canvey Island  1-5  Enfield Town

Well, well, well, who could have predicted that score. Great result, congratulations and very well done to Brad and the lads. Let's hope we have saved some goals in the locker for when we meet them in the FA Trophy next Saturday. One way or another it has been a good week for Town. Two away wins on the bounce, six points, and six-goal improvement to our goal difference. Keep it going guys, you have settled a few nerves, and made a lot of people very happy!

Can't wait to read the comments on todays performance and result.

Superb... Last week I heard someone shout 'you might as well give up Brad' when Wingate scored and 'get him off the pitch' at one of our players... Sure whoever shouted that would of been cheering today.

Why oh why are some supporters berating those who criticised Brad after last weeks dire performance ? We had every right to feel disgruntled and he admitted in his local press interviews that it was bad himself. He has responded to the criticism well with two very good away wins and restored my faith in him as the right man to lead us forward. As the manager of our team he'll enjoy the plaudits tonight, just as he should accept the perfectly justifiable criticism of last week.

Just making a point i suppose - We have got one of the best young managers at this level of football who is learning his trade.... to berate him after a bad performance surely is counter productive.... or as the last two results have shown maybe productive so maybe I'm wrong.

I don't think your wrong ColdEnd.

Bradley doesn't need berating and it certainly doesn't spur him on anymore than his own self motivation levels.

Last weeks critics were of a very fickle nature, as it ignored our recent unbeaten run and concentrated on our first home defeat of 2016 instead. We all agreed it was a collectively poor team performance.

However, we've now won 2 games on the spin away from home and things are rosey again.

Not only that. We are currently without kirbs, Percy + Ottaway and put Parcel, Campbell Collins and Devyne on the bench. On top of that I still think we need a natural goal scorer and a centre half. We are 7th, getting wins home and away but still feel it's work in progress, in other words Brads management/coaching skill are very good in fact excellent, bearing that in mind.

As for today- We would've won if it was 11v11, however it became evident there would only be one winner at 11v10 , I counted 7 attempts on target including penalty, the finishing was ruthless.
