What sort of game?

Theres been a lot of talk lately about the vastly improved attendances now we have left Beaconsfield but some forget that large numbers turned up there for important attractive matches Our record attendance at Beaconsfield was just short of 1600 What sort of game do you think will bring more than that to Arbour Park? A championship decider? A Play off game? Last eight of the Trophy? ??

I think a play-off game or a cup game will be the one that breaks that...

Anyone know what our all-time home attendance record is?

I know we switched a home FA Cup tie to Birmingham City's ground and the crowd was about 13,000 but not sure that would count!

Just looked through the "important attractive" matches we have played at Beaconsfield. (i.e. Cup matches, play offs and Boxing day/New year days)

It wasn't a thorough search through every match played at Holloways park just those which would be most likely to attract crowds and these were the big attendances. (I may have missed some)

3rd Nov 2012 - FA Cup vs Mansfield - 1686

5th Oct 2011 - FA Cup vs Hanwell - 525

21st Oct 2012 - FA Cup vs Gosport - 523

26th Dec 2015 - League vs Chesham - 438

3rd March 12 - Play Off vs SYCOB - 370

So only really one big attendance there which was the Mansfield FA Cup game. We were not helped by only having one play off game despite being involved in several play off seasons.

So the fact we almost had the same gate last night for a Berks and bucks first round game as the club did for a home play off semi is unbelievable, and shows the appetite in the town.

I really believe that if we are fighting for promotion come March/April we could be getting 4 figure gates regularly.

Record home attendance is likely to be between Pegasus (1951?) and Skelmersdale

(1967?), both in the Amateur Cup at the Dolphin Stadium and both 9000+.

No attendance limits on safety grounds back then! I wasn't at the former game(!!)

but do remember the crush at the Skelmersdale game.

Your right, the midweek home replay against Mansfield had attendance of 1,597.

Last two home games of the promotion season against Rugby and Chertsey had attendances of 402 and 393...... which were quite a bit higher than the average league attendance for the season.

So if we are in the running going in to the last couple of matches attendances will probably get a significant boost, but unlikely to hit the 1,600 mark.

A play-off match probably would, and play-off final definitely would (Kettering final was 2,331), and an FA Trophy quarter final match against a top 10 Conference National side (like Aldershot) would likely achieve it as well.

Have to admit that I've been really surprised at the attendance figures so far.

As Neil has observed there appears to be a massive appetite in the town even for

a Berks & Bucks Cup game! Long may it continue.

Yes Neil success will be the Key   Results bring in the crowds as much as geography  Fans flock to success and melt away when teams  become serial failures  Two good examples in our league at present are St Neots and Kettering  both struggling and both playing in front of crowds substantially reduced from a few seasons ago Fortunately there is  every reason to believe our success will continue.

One reason stated all along by the Council against a football stadium was for a club that only gets around 250 to much money to spend on a project where the money could be used else where.

So it's great credit to steve and all involved at the club and give them credit the council coming round to the idea for a community stadium that will deliver good things for the local Community.

We knew all along get back in Slough and more people will come having success on the field from the start has speedied up that process.

Starting with the 70 young people who attended the last game there the one's who we have to get hooked to come regular.

So hopefully from now on crowds way above 250 will prove the venture a good thing.
