Sorry Irish the memory fades regarding Ken Wallis. I particularly remember Peter because I worked with him and lunchtimes we used to play football on a field at the back of the offices where we had made goalposts from scaffold tubes. One day, even though I say it myself, I put in a superb cross from which Peter duly scored. He then told me to put it an inch further to the left in future! I nagged at him to join Slough which he eventually did (not because of my nagging!). Although defences were not as tight in those days and the game was slower his record nevertheless speaks for itself. He emigrated to Australia where I believe he played professionally.

I remember Ken Wallis, went off to Hong Kong to join the police force there. Those were the days when we played in amber & navy hoops. I particularly remember the 14-1 v Hungerford, how times have changed! Lowen used to score for fun, didn't do a lot of tackling or running about, whereas my alter ego was all action by comparison.

I did apologise for the bit of nostalgia but I guess it was just a natural progression from discussing the 9-2 scoreline onto previous high scores. Anyway it would be nice to see a few more goals (by Slough) on Saturday. COYR!
