Enfield Town v Dulwich Hamlet

Beardsleyesque

Recommended Posts

Everyone will be looking forward to this return match with the Hamlet. They are a much respected club with great support, history and tradition, and we are always guaranteed a very lively, keenly contested match against our old friends from Champion Hill.

At present Dulwich are 11th in the Ryman Premier Division  table and Town 13th, with one point separating the two club's.

After narrowly missing out in the play-offs last season, todays opponents were many peoples pre-season favourites for promotion in the new campaign. So far, their form has been somewhat erratic, much like our own, but they haven't yet lost on their travels in the League, while Town remain unbeaten at home.

Something has to give. It promises to be one helluva keenly-fought contest at the QE2 Stadium tomorrow afternoon, too close to call. Everything points to a draw, but having narrowly lost 2-1 at Dulwich mid-August, Town will be pulling out all the stops, and fighting tooth and nail to win this match and continue their climb up the table.

Don't miss this ding-donger of a match, which will most probably attract our biggest gate of the season to date. Brad and the boys need maximum support and encouragement from a loud noisy home crowd. Let's hear it for the lads!

Good luck everyone!

Disappointing not to have won yesterday, but a draw was not totally unexpected, and by all accounts it was a fair result. At least we are still unbeaten this season at the QE2, and Dulwich maintained their undefeated away record. So honours and pride still intact, but did either side deserve more from the game? Be very interested to hear your own thoughts on the outcome.

Best game of the season so far, would've been even better if we took one of two very late chances that we created.

Thought Dulwich bossed most of the game particularly between the 10th-70th mins.

We started fast and Ottaway could've/should've scored earlier than he did.

Dulwich are very good going forward and a strong powerful outfit but so so careless when in and around our box , they should be whipping teams but lack of brains/composure lets them down and I can see how it all goes wrong for them once they've gone a couple down,

Our fortunes changed when Tyler and Mendy came on, they both instilled direct running at the Dulwich defence which they struggled with, both should have scored the winner near the very end. However, a fair result overall played in fine competitive spirit on and off the pitch.

unbeaten at home.

unbeaten in five league and cup games.

five points off the play zone.

Not looking too bad now I would say.

Burgess Hill Town (A) and then Billericay Town (H) are two tough games. Both had good wins in the Cup yesterday...

'Ricay have brought in a lot of new players but are doing okay - sixth in the league...

Beards,

Agree, but the players have to start thinking about how each other play and what they do.

Yesterday Harry must of won 25 or more headers and flick-ons, but not a single player anticipated his efforts and waited until the header was won before moving.....far too late and ball cleared.

Players need to learn and anticipate more, they should know by now and move with the thought that Harry WILL win the header.

So frustrating.
