Slough v Leamington

This match deserves a bumper crowd. Could be the sternest test so far for the lads Easily the best two defences in the league but there is a further dimension to that We have conceded just 1 of our 5 at home but surprisingly Leamington have conceded just 1 of their 5 away I hope that home advantage and a large crowd urging them on will swing it for the Rebels.

0-0 then!

Yes tomorrow night will certainly be our toughest match so far and a real test of our resolve and ambitions this season. I'd hope for a similar crowd to Saturday especially with Leamington expecting to bring 100 fans, be great to get 600+. I wonder if we've got or tried to get a loan striker in as we only have Gav fit and although the wingers are scoring I'd be loathe to switch their positions.

Would be great to get a similar sized crowd to Saturday but I just wonder how many Brakes fans will be put off by the lack of parking at the ground - just going by a few comments on social media. Hopefully they'll just come by coach instead and that people pay attention to the guidance on the website as Dan has mentioned previously.

Looking forward to the match it should be a good game, will be fantastic if we can win and open up a 5 point gap over them. They had the better of us in both games last season, but we are in great form so far this season and are a much improved team.

Head to Head:

20/02/16 League Slough Town 1-3 Leamington

29/09/15 League Leamington 3-0 Slough Town

From Neil Baker's article on the Official Website. Lee Barney will be out for 4-6 weeks due to the ankle injury he sustained against Biggleswade, and Charlie Moone is unlikely to feature against Leamington as he hasn't quite recovered enough yet from a groin strain. However, Lewis Putman is back in the squad.

The 16 man squad will be from the following:
Mark Scott, Sean Fraser, Josh Jackman, Guy Hollis, Mark Nisbet, Brad Hewitt, Dan Hicks, Paul Stonehouse, Lewis Putman, James Dobson, Warren Harris, Gurkan Gokmen, Simon Dunn, Lee Togwell, Nathan Webb, Adrian Sear, Gavin James and Charlie Moone.

Good shout Glenn. I would go for least change. Some might say move Wazza in but that' would put two out of position. Given he and Dobbo have been providing most of the threat ( and goals ) from the wings keep them there.

If that does not work I would be tempted to go 4 3 3 with Nathan in a mid 3 and Dobbo and Wazza pushing on hard alongside Gav , plan B only though.

Sure Jon and Neil having a good larf at us armchair managers! They have got it spot on so far and expect they will again.

With Lewis Putman back [if fit? ] and Dobbo's form in front of goal, I would play Dobbo alongside Gav James up front tonight and put Lewis on the left wing. Really depends on how fit 'Putts' is.

Otherwise the best option will be to go with Wazza and Gav up front with 'Gary' Gokman on the right wing.

The only other big call is Brad Hewitt or Guy Hollis. Think Brad will get the nod to start this one.

Definitely shouldn't change our shape for this one. Biggest game of our season so far. Let's hope the rain keeps off and we come away with the 3 points ! ! :)

Thanks for the positive words Stan, much appreciated.

Always interesting to see the views of the "armchair managers" as there are so many different opinions which is what makes the game so interesting. From our point of view with the squad we have this season it's just great that we have different options.

You'll just have to wait until around 7.45 tonight to find out what we've gone with and hopefully we get it right!

Never been put off by 'parking' a bit far away for a game. Walked miles from the car if it's a big game and this is a biggie. If people are put off by a 10 min walk, their loss.

Quite right Stan. Why can't they park in the street and walk ? Even if they parked in Wexham it's not that far away.

I think a problem may present in a few more months when its very cold and rain very likely.

The flip side to that is that once you get to the ground the game will be on and you will be dry at both ends! ( of the ground I mean....) unlike Holloways where you fight through puddles or the ice to actually get up there only to find the games called of because it has not thawed by the corner flag!

Full-time: Slough Town 2-0 Leamington

Great result, especially with Dunstable losing 1-0 at Redditch.

Well done to the joint-managers & all the players.
