Slough v Biggleswade

Game of Throw-ins

Recommended Posts

With Slough currently in great form and top of the table, it should be a comfortable win at home against 14th place Biggleswade.

Slough won the corresponding fixture last season 2-0.

Head to Head matches:

01/12/15 League Slough Town 2-0 Biggleswade

11/08/15 League Biggleswade 5-1 Slough Town

28/10/14 League Biggleswade 3-3 Slough Town

19/08/14 League Slough Town 1-1 Biggleswade

09/04/13 League Biggleswade 2-1 Slough Town

26/03/13 League Slough Town 3-1 Biggleswade

With on paper tougher and "bigger" matches coming up would be easy to take it for granted that tomorrow will be a game we should win.

If we consider our realistic early season ambitions and aims we mustn't get too carried away and expect we will win every week just because we are top after 9 games.

Hopefully we can continue to play with the same team work, energy and confidence that we have managed to play with for most of the season.

A reminder to those attending that parking at St Joes will be by permit only.

These will NOT be on sale at the gates of the school.

if you have ordered but it not arrived the stewards will have a registration list to allow entry where appropriate.

Our record against Biggleswade is evenly matched at 2 wins apiece and 2 draws. Games against them are normally pretty close affairs except for the 5-1 walloping they gave us a couple of seasons ago.

We are in good form but they will be busting a gut to put one over us and as such I'm expecting another very closely fought encounter.

I'm not sure we should be talking about 'comfortable wins', I'm pretty sure they don't need any extra incentive to put us in our place.

My opinion is that whilst it's great to be top of the league and playing so well after a couple of seasons of getting used to the step up, it's very premature to be saying any game should be a comfortable win. This is a tough league where anyone can beat anyone. Like everyone else I am thrilled with how we've developed since last season though.

Now we are top of the league every team we face will be looking to get one over on us. Biggleswade and their manager Chris's Nunn we be no different in trying to get the bragging rights over Neil and Jon.

Usually a good match between the two sides who prefer to play quick passing football rather route one.

Hopefully we will be close to a full squad once again.

Wonder what the centre half partnership will be tomorrow, if Guy Hollis is available?

Going to be a tough call for Bakes and Unders, given the Leamington and Dartford FA Cup match are imminent.

Very difficult knowing Guy's situation but it would be very tough on Brad Hewitt if he was on the bench.

Having said that it's a squad game and there are plenty of games coming up.

Let's hope for another positive performance and result to follow!

Regarding Guy, I would be very surprised if he is able to attend the game with his personal situation he would sit on the bench, if he is there he will play I reckob! Rightly or wrongly bearing in mind CB doing well even without him! Just my opinion... by the way, I would always pick guy as he is top class but wouldn't seem right? Thoughts?

As I said it would be particularly harsh on Brad as he's done nothing wrong and in fact he's been excellent in our unbeaten run but Guy has to get some minutes whether that is by starting or coming off the bench. What also has to be considered is that Guy hasn't played or probably even trained for a while and possibly coming off the bench might be a better way of getting him back up to speed.

If the team are as professional as they were last week then we should be fine. Wins need to be earned not just turned up for. Every good run comes to an end sometime usually when you least expect it to. Main thing is to get to 11 league games ( first quarter of the season ) with just the one defeat. Wins in the next two would be nice but main thing is to not lose.
