Vs Weymouth

Couldn't see the pen shout properly from other end of pitch but I must admit I was worried it would be given when he went down.

Phenomenal defensive performance by the team yesterday. Don't think we were quite at our best in the final third and we didn't keep the ball too well especially 1st half

Weymouth as they have every time we have been to them played to break down the wings at pace but they rarely actually produced much the times they did break through our defence

Even from early on it felt like a single goal would probably decide it and fortunately it was us that found the goal. Drilled home superbly by Harris. Not all that different area of pitch and finish to Dobbo's winner vs Hayes & Yeading

As said on the interview by Jon Underwood this really was the sort of game we would have more than likely lost the last few seasons. In all honesty our first season in this league we fairly regularly lost this sort of fixture by at least 3 or 4 but we have a real grit and determination now

Did not go to this game but must say all the players that have come in to replace the cert first team players ďuring the season so far have all taken there chance.

Very impressed with Brad and Josh.

A nice problem to have for the managers.

Quick question for Bakes or Unders:

On Monday, Lewis Putman was declared fit and in the squad to play at Weymouth.

As he made no show at all, is Putts still injured?

We had hoped he was fit, however he has had another set back with the groin, and is going to have to probably sit out the next 2/3 weeks and give it total rest... problem we have had is he is desperate to play, and keeps coming back possibly too early (you think it feels ok, but then a sudden movement even walking can set it off again)

We have therefore told him to take 2/3 weeks off and properly rest it.

I would think that he may be back for either the Ashford or Cambridge game on the 4th or 8th of October and then get his season going from there, as we all know what a big part he has to play for us this season.

Thanks for the reply Bakes.

Im guessing the interest in Lewis has been prompted by his mention recently on a rival forum? I know he is happy with us and look forward to seeing him back in action He will be one of the best performers on a 3g pitch imo

Irish, I'm not sure why you're intimating that there has been some interest in Putts.

The only thing you could eluding to that a H & Y supporter suggested on their forum that their manager looks at someone like Lewis Putman to try to solve their bad start to the season.

Im not intimating that at all just asking if others had seen the same item you and I had seen Those supporters obviously have an interest in Lewis and the Wingate player they mentioned ( cant remember his name from memory) You know as well as I do the contractual situation pertaining.

As long as the interest shown is only from a supporter and not a manager then I don't think we've got anything to worry about.

Beside I can't think of any reason why he'd want to leave us for H & Y.
