Hayes and Yeading Ground Closed

Hayes and Yeading have been told to close their new ground since it had been operating without the statutory permissions and a safety certificate Hendon have helped them with this Saturdays game against Merthyr.

Surely whoever issued it safe to play the games they have already played there is in big trouble and could the club be in bother too? Shame after all the years it's taken to finally get it open only to find they've seemingly not gone through the correct channels.

Apparantly your permissions/ certificates arent set in stone They can be withdrawn if safety / non compliance issues arise Interesting thread on the H&Y Forum

Next couple of days will be interesting if more information about the original safety certificate details are released (assuming there even was one).

 

Will also be interesting to see if any punishment is handed out if there were any safety issues which were ignored while matches were played.

Those who cant make Weymouth on Tuesday can go to SYCOB and suss out this seasons Chesham strength Strange statement from a Hayes official who claims the problem is that although they were granted a safety certificate they were'nt formally granted it Anyone guess what that means?

Sounds a bit Irish to me Adrian (no offence intended). Perhaps they were awarded a WOM Certificate. Whatever I hope it gets resolved soon for the sake of everyone at Hayes and indeed for the League as a whole.

Thank you Curtis should have thought of that! Word is that H&Y placed signs all round the ground saying it was an active building site and people entered at their own risk!!

Signage like that means nothing. You cant negate your liability by putting up signage.

 

Shame as we are unable to make Redditch on Saturday and we were going to H+Y.

SloughFlyer I agree in part but if you have a safety certificate for your ground and put up signs indicating that it may not be safe after all then you create an ambivalent situation.

Its not so much that. You cant cover / negate your liability and responsiblity to H+S by putting up signs. Same way as signs in a car park saying ypur park there at your own risk. If something happens caused by the owners of the car park, all the signs in the world wont help in any claims made.

 

At a game on May bank holiday we were told that H+Y wouldnt be in their ground until Xmas, so we were very surprised to see them in there this early, so perhaps it is not so unexpected that this has happened.

Apologies for my late reply but I have just got back from the Trust AGM where I explained my remark which Curtis has reiterated. I emphasise that my best wishes go to everyone at H&Y but of course I agree with the comments regarding attempted disclaimers of liability.

Trawling round social media it appears that complaints were made that spectators werent safe and that H&Y knew it hence the signs This of course is hearsay and may just be guessing but the silence from H&Y is surprising you would expect them to want to clear up any unfair comments

It seems they are taking it on a game by game basis and play at any local ground that is available.
