Burnham v Thatcham

Windsor Rebel

Yeah saw that on Twitter, coupled with an 0-8 loss to Thame plus they've lost all their other games. Also their manager resigned/sacked before the 0-11 loss. They need an experienced manager and team but that obviously costs and with crowds of around 50 it's not going to happen. I think they'll do extremely well not to get relegated again (would that be 3 in succession?). I remember in the not so distant past where we always struggled against them, how fortunes change.

That's why I posted a while ago about our supporters sticking with the club is last 14 years.

With people saying no I don't like Windsor/Beaconsfield I'm not going until we are back in Slough. How easy we could of gone down that same path.

Plus any floating support they may have will now possibly attend our games now, so they really could be down to bare bones support. Future not looking bright at all without significant investment which isn't going to happen as there isn't really the potential/return at Burnham. BTW I'm not gloating at all just looking at their position.

Having seen Burnham this season would have expected a banker away win as Thatcham are a very good side at their level. However no scores of 11-0 should be happening at any level.

If they get relegated down to Hellenic Div one east they will have the best facilities by miles as several teams in that league share with cricket teams.

Massive comedown, Will keep an eye on them.

We were there (my son, my Dad and I). Burnham are a shambles of a club this season. Dave Tuttle he manager was sacked on Monday, but according to one of the club guys there last night all season the teams that have been put out have been Luther Blissets (their academy coach) and not Tuttles.

We saw them against Binfield last Monday when they lost 4-0 and they didnt look good, but not 11-0 bad! The issue last night was that after about 10 minutes the Burnham goalkeeper hurt his right thigh and couldnt carry on, thus a young sub went in goal who clearly wasnt a keeper. At the point when the original goalie went off it was 0-0, 15 seconds later after a worldie from the Thatcham forward Burnham were 1-0 down and it was down hill from there. They were 6-0 down at half time, and lost 11-0 in the end. It could have been loads more though as Thatcham hit the post 5 times, had 4 goals ruled out for off side and the young sub keeper made 6 blinding saves. One of the funniest games we have been too for a while!

The problems Burnham have is with the crowds they get they are probably at the right level, the issue is they dont know what they are. They have a bunch of players that are neither a young developing side or a side to challenge in the league and until they sort that out, they will continue to lose games like this.

Windsor have shown you can be competitive at that level without paying players. Something burnham would do well to pay attention to. That £10k loan from Blissett or his company will be enough of a struggle for them to pay back. Also sad to see there's not much love from many who have been associated with the club over the last few years. Potential with the facilities is there for a good step four/five club if they can run it properly behind the scenes.

Burnham lost 3-2 this week which is an improvement of sorts !

We know Burnham are struggling financially but Gary Reeves should look at himself, when looking for who to blame for Burnham's demise and their plummet down the divisions, as since he's taken over the club  Burnham have become a laughing stock.

Here at Slough, having been through quite a few, we know what a good Chairman makes to a club !

Thats not a surprising result as Binfield are a decent side again this year and beat them by the same score 2 weeks ago.

The 4-2 on Saturday is a shocker though as before this Henley also had 0 points.

7 games played and 37 conseeded, not the best start to a season Lol
