SSML Talent Past/Present

Recommended Posts

As the title suggests...whose been the most successful to grace an SSML pitch....

From a WGC point of view, of late young Craig Arnott seems to be pondering his future....sitting on the bench for some time now...once of Colchesters Youth System....promising young man...now finds himself out of favour.

So i just thought, a thread to see whose achieved the most once theyve graced an SSML pitch and whose had the biggest fall from grace.

Brook House and Barry Hayles was Willesdon Hawkeye.  He was playing left back in one of my first first team games and he scored a hat-trick.  Think the next week he signed for Stevenage Borough, probably around 1993/1994.

This was before the London Spartan League and South Midland League joined around 1998 to form the SSML as you now know it.

Mark Halsey

Ha Ha... I've done the Herts Corinthian League Treble - Treble - Double in consecutive years with Paul Halsey in goal.  We had a great defence obviously ;)

Where have all my non-threatening, sensible posts on this topic gone? They were just questions? And I never got to see the response?

Our Kaz... there's monitoring a forum and then there's just deleting people's posts and discouraging them to ever post again.

I can only assume the reply was not pleasant and you had to delete mine because of HalseyPenis' posts? Please clear up.

Just read the moderated posts... nothing horrendous but completely took the thread off topic.  Kaz didn't remove them, it was the head honcho.

Anyway... from the original post it seems like Penis is looking for both sides, players gone on to achieve and those who have ended up in the SSML after showing promise.

I just went with those that I know of that progressed.  On the flip side Sonny Pike formally of Ajax was a team mate at Hoddesdon in the early 2000's.  I also remember playing against ex Tottenham Paul Moran when he was at Potters Bar.

Thanks for summing it up.

If my post is open to opinion or interpretation...dont make a mockery of it...intepret it how you want...

Wow really i remember the hype around Sonny way back....even just googled him to see whats going on now. His talents never materialised and he is now a taxi driver/carpenter....madness

I like to think mine was very much 'on topic', seeing as it was basically just questions so I could take part. I'd be interested to know what Penis' reply was. I can only assume that was the reason for the unfortunate deletion of my posts. Ironically, this is off topic, so I'll leave it there.

Interesting about Pike, he had a lot of coverage recently, I heard him on Talksport and it was sad to hear what he went through. I remember seeing him on Fantasy Football back in the day in full Ajax kit talking to Baddiel and Skinner! Turns out his parents were just exploiting him. Never realised he turned out for an ssml team!

Deflecting blame...i like it!

They also split up...which was probably down to greed if they were exploiting the poor lad...Disgusting humans.
