Reading Rebel
I know it's a bit early but some of the results from today's games I think emphasizes that this division really is wide open. Banbury losing at home to bottom of the table Dorchester. Basingstoke beating Kettering 3-0 Next to bottom Biggleswade beating Cinderford 5-0 Redditch losing 2-1 to win-less Kings Lynn Weymouth losing at home 2-0 to St Neots. If my memory serves me right I think someone said St Neots were a poor team when we beat them comfortably 2-0 at home.
3spirit
Jhai Dhillon scored the winner for Dorchester !
Reading Rebel
Jhai Dhillon scored the winner for Dorchester ! Yes, saw that and had to take a second look. Did well for us but I think we've got a better player in Paul Stonehouse!
Mr Rebel
think must be a mistake as Jhai Dhillon played for Dunstable today according to their site
rebelade
Think you will find the scorer was Chris Dillon
RebelDelaney
Kings Langley 2-2 against an inform Frome side watched by
HorshamRebel
The league site definitely have J Dhillon down, which made me look at what they said on our game. They finally have the correct player for us and have C Moone down at last.
Reading Rebel
Kings Langley 2-2 against an inform Frome side watched by 74 So another 'poor team' draw against the form team at the top. Must be a lot of 'poor teams' in this division.
3spirit
Think you will find the scorer was Chris Dillon Yes it was Chris Dillon. Sorry about the duff information. Blame the Southern League website as last night they had it down as Jhai Dhillon. I thought he must have had a transfer from Dunstable !
3spirit
So another 'poor team' draw against the form team at the top. Must be a lot of 'poor teams' in this division. Kings Langley look better than St Ives ! Early season results never prove who will win the title. You only have to look at Hull City in the Premiership. They won't be doing a Leicester. Chalfont St Peter and Aylesbury United are in the top three of the Central division but I don't believe either of them will be promoted. Danny Edwards manager at Chalfont I rate but I can't see the current squad he has there being good enough for promotion. If you look at all the divisions through the land you will find 'fluke' teams who start well but fade as the games come thick and fast. If Slough want to be in the play offs they should be beating teams like Kings Langley and St Ives.
codpiece
I can't believe there is negativity from some regarding the start to the season. 3 wins from 5 , and a narrow but undeserved defeat at Banbury. Compare this with last season when we won 2 from the first 8 , yet finished fairly comfortable in the end in 17th. Whether we beat a poor St.Ives team is irrelevant.A win is a win,and this breeds confidence going into the next game. Results can always be strange until the first month or so is completed.Who is to say Basingstoke, Hayes or Hitchin may still mount a title challenge. Moving into the new ground with bigger crowds on a near perfect surface can only be a good thing. My only concern is when the pitches get heavy later on in the season , and we have to get used to playing away on opponents muddy surfaces !! COYR. I don't believe I'm being negative [if you are referring to my posts on this and the St Ives thread] Codpiece. I just viewed yesterday's game as not the barnstormer that others seem to think it was. For me St Ives rolled over and died [as their manager points out on the audioboom] . If anything Slough should have scored more than the 3-0 result and if the Slough side were functioning at their best they would have thrashed them by a large margin. To me I thought a couple of our players had under par games but I know all players have off days. I like the fact that we won and are in the top 5 currently, what Slough supporter wouldn't? Football is about opinions, that is all.

I'm not quite sure who you were referring to when you say a couple of players had an off day , but it would be unfair to single them out as i thought everyone was outstanding. On to the next game , and who knows , there is an outside chance we may top the league coming out at Arbour Park on Monday.
