SOLD OUT - Hayes & Yeading (h) - Monday 29 August

Interested in what the managers said about the pitch, being that the pitch being new makes the ball roll slow. My friend and I was having a discussion about this issue at the match yesterday. It came as a shock to me, as I was expecting the exact opposite, thinking the ball would be zipping around.

So if anything it reminded me of playing back at Beaconsfield ! ha ha !

The players are certainly having to adapt to all variety of conditions that are being thrown at them and they seem to be taking it in their stride, which can only be a good thing for the rest of the season, when the weather becomes seasonal.

I wonder how many games it will take to be played on 3g before the ball plays quicker, excluding the rainy days?  I suppose that's anyone's guess.

Very difficult to say, maybe a month? A lot will depend on how much the pitch gets used outside of the time we have on it, which obviously is something out of our control. We know that in time the pitch will play so much quicker and this will suit the way we want to play but for the time being we may need to grind out results as we have been doing on all sorts of surfaces in the first 7 games, and for that the players deserve a huge amount of credit.

Fascinated to see how many turn up on Saturday but hopefully a good number will return (plus more new faces who couldn't get tickets yesterday) and we can put on a good performance and a win to keep up the current feel good factor!

It's obviously going to be a lot less than 1,400 but if this was being played at Holloways Park we'd probably expect 200-250 but I'm hoping for 400-500 which would be excellent for this type of match. Really hope we can see regular league home crowds of 600+ if we stay top 5.

It was a fantastic occasion and a great result to go with it.  So many brilliant volunteers were there during last week, on Sunday and before and after the game on Monday to make all this happen and it was delivered as well as it could have been.  Special mention to Steve who has finally managed to deliver what he has always wanted for our club.

Credit to the players, it was a really hot day but they kept going and got the result in very difficult conditions.

Hopefully we will see plenty of people at future games.

It will be interesting to see how many Saturday. My guess would be that it could be less than the following league game due to season tickets not counting. I'd still hope for 500 though

Most season ticket holders are the die hard fans who will turn up most weeks so not sure having to pay will have a lot of relevance to the gate size.

I thought the speaker system for the music was initially very good but as time went on it became a bit hit and miss.

Also when the music was turned off when the game started you could still hear some crackling noise from the system whilst the game was going on.

I would imagine it will just be a bit of a teething problem.

My match photos from yesterday have now had  over 100,000 views, since I put them up at 11pm last night.

All I can say is Wow, and thanks

I have been showing the guys at work, your pictures of the game, and I appear in one of them. Great pictures, and my first Slough game since before the move to SYCOB. I thought we played well. The thing that surprised me was, how may of the old songs I could remember :D

Agree with the last comment, the announcements were largely inaudible.

The music at the start was good, but the PA announcements throughout were

difficult to hear.

Hopefully it can be sorted out for Saturday.

I thought we had bought the tannoy system off of Beaconsfield, as it kept cutting out and doing the Norman Collier commentary ! lol !

It also didn't help, having it positioned on a wall blasting directly in my earhole, being that I was standing by the home dugout.

I wondered if the speaker had been put there deliberately ! ha ha !

Bring back the drum !

What you actually mean is that it didn't help by you deliberately standing by the dug out placing your ear hole in front of the already positioned speaker. LOL

A few of us commented about the speakers. If you ;ook at some of them they are pointing down to the ground. It may help if these were raised to give a wider trajectory. Also some speakers appeared to be better than others.

On a positive note it was great to see some old faces that have not been to a game for many years. The ones I spoke to enjoyed the experience and will certaimly be back.

thanks to all
