SOLD OUT - Hayes & Yeading (h) - Monday 29 August

But with 1,400 and so many new faces I don't think whoever is manning the gate will have the time to register if they know them or not. I can't see the harm in someone else using another's if it's agreed between all parties.

Personally I think the Club sold season tickets in good faith and at a low price as to say thank you and to entice new people to the club. By doing this for one the club would loose the money that person would spend at the turnstile (or in this case the ticket they would of brought).

I should have offered earlier but did not realise the take-up was going to be so good.

The aim of offering tickets was to enable people who want to be there the opportunity and ask the people who used the tickets to donate the standard tickets price to the club, that way everyone is hopefully benefiting.

I appreciate that this may now be too complex to arrange now.

Still my main regret is not having a winter holiday.

I hope everyone has a great day and Slough are triumphant today with a class display to bring back the crowds for the rest of our HOME games.

Firstly, a massive thank you to Steve Easterbrook and the board for making today even remotely possible.

Secondly a massive thank you and well done to all the volunteers who made the day run as smoothly as possible.

I thought we played some good football in the first half and were a little unlucky not to go in at half time a goal ahead. Second half it was clear H&Y were looking to play route one when they could and it hampered our game a bit but we fought hard and got the goal we deserved to win the game. Scotty made a couple more great saves again today to help keep us in it.

It was clear we were tiring towards the end which is understandable. Having played just two days ago plus the heat (it gets hotter on the pitch than in the stands) plus the drain from the emotion throughout the day. Despite this, once again this season we played well for the full 90+ minutes.

Great to see lots of familiar faces and plenty of new ones. Great to run through all the songs again and somehow still just about having a voice left.

Biggest attendance of the league so far at 1401. Just ahead of the Weymouth vs Dorchester 1231.

Hopefully some people will be impressed by the facilities, the team and the community and will come back.

Agree SRJ. A MASSIVE THANKS to all who made today possible and made it run so smooth [volunteers and all]. Appreciate all your efforts.

What a fantastic day. The sun shone, the stadium looked 'the business', the attendance was as good as we had hoped and to cap it off we got the win, in what was a good, entertaining game !

Hayes and Yeading FC were no pushover and will probably feel they deserved a draw. I thought we rode our luck at times and wasn't quite as fluent as we can be but just about had the edge over our Middlesex rivals.

On a boiling hot day with such high expectations, all our players merit praise and there were several players with noteworthy performances ie Webby, Wazza, Simon Dunn etc.

That said, though, I thought Mark Scott was exceptional and probably shaded the Man of the Match.

Let's hope we can take our superb form into the FA Cup.

Yes, thanks to all who made it happen and to Sir Steve Easterbrook because without him we would never have seen this day!

First half I thought we were the better team and at times we played some really good football. H&Y scored against the run of play with Lee Barney equalizing with a well worked goal slammed into the roof of the net at the second attempt after an excellent through ball from Charlie Moone (I think).

Both keepers pulled off a couple of excellent saves in the first half and for me I thought Simon Dunn was different class in central midfield.

The second half was certainly more even and a bit more of a tense affair with Hayes seemingly always looking to pump the ball in the air to their 7ft giant center forward!

Having said that chances were still created with Dobbo scoring the winning goal with an excellent strike and Mark Scott pulling off a blinding save from a well taken free kick that was heading for the top corner to secure us the well deserved 3 points.

All the players played their part and everyone had a good game but for me Simon Dunn was again excellent and continues to show what a good player he is, Mark Scott made some truly excellent saves and Warren Harris for his non stop running and being a real pain in the backside for the Hayes full back.

Difficult choice but for me it's between Dunny and Scotty for MOTM.

Great day, great occasion and an excellent 3 points.

Well done Bakes@Unders and the squad for playing so well and getting the result to kick start the new Slough Town chapter.

Also to Barney and Dobbo for getting the goals that will put you both in the record books for scoring in the first game at the new stadium.

Good to see a number of ex players at the game looking very well.

Keep the form going into the FA Cup game.

I echo quite a lot of what has been said already.  Firstly well done to everyone involved in making yesterday happen thought the whole day was superb.  In terms of the match, it was a good game, with Dunn being brilliant in central midfield and doing what he has been doing all season.  For someone of his stature you would think he would be knocked off the ball more often than he is, yet in fact he manaes to have more time on the ball than anyone else and his distribution is top class.  I think Wazza had his best game since he has been back from injury too yesterday.  Scott, for his saves that kept us in the game at vital times, must be man of the match.

Two minor things that got my goat though! Why is the burger van called Win*sor Gourmet Burger? I grew up in an era when we were rivals so boycotted my lucky bacon burger for that reason! Number 2 what happened to my programme advert?!

Post Hayes & Yeading Interview with Neil and Jon.

Would help if I'd put the link in...... DOH.

Interested in what the managers said about the pitch, being that the pitch being new makes the ball roll slow. My friend and I was having a discussion about this issue at the match yesterday. It came as a shock to me, as I was expecting the exact opposite, thinking the ball would be zipping around.

So if anything it reminded me of playing back at Beaconsfield ! ha ha !

The players are certainly having to adapt to all variety of conditions that are being thrown at them and they seem to be taking it in their stride, which can only be a good thing for the rest of the season, when the weather becomes seasonal.

I wonder how many games it will take to be played on 3g before the ball plays quicker, excluding the rainy days?  I suppose that's anyone's guess.

Simon Dunn deserves a lot of praise for his all round game yesterday but I think without a player of Nathan Webb class alongside him, he may not have been quite as good.

Nathan in the first half had a brilliant game and worked his socks off. Understandably wilted a bit in the second half, in those extremely hot conditions.

It was unfortunate that we didn't have Lee Togwell on the bench, for fresh legs towards the end of the game, as Nathan had run himself into the ground.

Still, in the end The Rebels came out victorious.

Great day out..... a big thanks and well done to everybody involved in the promotion and organisation.

Fantastic to also add another three points to the total.

The performance wasn't as good as we have seen at most matches this season, but on a new surface, with the pressure of expectation from the large attendance (four times our average at home this season), a local derby and two days after our last match, it was always going to be a difficult one to impress in.

Hopefully the superb new ground, the result and maintaining the lofty position of 2nd in the league will attract a fair few back soon to enjoy the experience again.
