littlehampton
Town have been drawn away to either Aylesbury or Hanwell Town. Match to be played on Saturday 3rd September. It would be nice to think that we can have a decent run in this prestigious money-spinning competition this season.
littlehampton
A bit more information, and some confusion, about our FA opponents. Both Aylesbury United and Hanwell play in The Eva-Stik League Division One Central, and after three league matches they are 7th and 8th respectively. But there is also another club called Aylesbury FC playing in the same League / Division and they are 18th in the table. Wonder which Aylesbury we might be playing? I mentioned prize money in my first post, and it is very important to Town, as the winners of this round will receive a useful £3000. Sure with this up for grabs, and more if we progress further, Brad and the players will be more than up for it in this competition.
The Traveller
It would be Aylesbury FC, the ones that are currently 18th and still play in Aylesbury and used to be called Aylesbury Vale.
littlehampton
We now know who our FA Cup opponents will be after the Preliminary Round matches played yesterday. Hanwell Town travelled to Aylesbury and secured a commendable 1-3 victory, a £1925 share of the prize money, and the right to host Town in the First Qualifying Round a week on Saturday, when the winners will receive £3000. OldTowner
Without sounding rude......this will be "their Cup Final" so we can expect a tough game. We can all remember previous years and "lower teams" My bet..... It won't be easy.
littlehampton
Hmmm........you're right OT it certainly won't be easy. Our guys have got to have the right attitude and approach in this match, and need to know (financially) how important it is to our Club.We need a win. Anything less than 100% from our team and we will make an early exit from this competition. In that sense it is "our Cup Final" as well.It is all about what we do on the day!
