Gashimoto have you forgotten the play off final v Kettering.

Well done to the team for turning round the game the pitch looked very poor the same for both sides I know, also I would

like to see Lee Barney get 90 minutes.

A strange game. A superb comeback from 2 down. However I never thought we got out of first gear and the way we were broke against for both the goals was worrying considering the average (at best) nature of the opposition. Mixed feelings as its a great 3 points from two down and I feel we were denied 2 penalties (one was so obvious he was still hanging on to Charlie's shirt we he hit the ground) that coupled with some very greedy play (square the f@&@ing ball- when your team mate has an open goal (this happened a few times) we could easily have won by 4 or 5. I suppose it's the male of a decent team play underwhelming and come away with 3 points. I think Kings Langley are going to get spanked by some teams this season.

Kirk - out of interest, who do you think are the "stronger" sides? I ask as thus far i dont see any stand out teams unlike Poole et al from seasons before. I think the league will be even tighter than last season and until we have actually seen both Slough and all the other teams go through a few months of work, nothing will become clear.

I thought their pitch was awful, however they started well on it and Slough were slow out the blocks and seemed wide open to Kings Langley's early counter attacking play. At 2-0 down things were looking ominous for us, with their number 10  [Duku] looking particularly useful on the break.

Stroke of luck got us back in it against the run of play, with Simon Dunn's goal and this seemed to upset the home side's belief and seemed to galvanise our play, to which Dobbo then popped up with an equaliser. Which seemed to stun Kings Langley.

Half time arrived, which certainly helped our team re-focus and re-group and I'm sure there would have been a hot air blast from our managers considering what they and us fans had witnessed early doors.

Second half we played much better and took control. Guy Hollis was outstanding and lead from the front[my Man of the Match]. Sean Fraser partnered Guy well in the heart of defence and Josh Jackman had a notable debut.

I thought Nathan Webb worked his socks off in the second half but him and Dunny seemed out of sync in that initial opening onslaught with Paul Stonehouse also looking shaky.

Thankfully improvement all round in that second half got us the rewards and then Charlie Moone, who had a quiet game by his standards, duly gets us the winner. Happy days are here again !

Nice to get the win, though, whatever.

Funny how people see different things.

I thought Guy didn't look his normal self today with some shaky defending.

Kirk probably means the bigger teams by name i.e. Weymouth, Leamington etc.

At the moment its a bit like last season where we had trouble getting two good performances together. In my opinion we have not played against one of the stronger sides yet. Still its early days  but forget the play offs.

Kirk, we played well and comfortably beat St Neots who since then have won both their games, we out played Banbury and didn't get the rub of the green, they now sit at the top with three wins from three. Yesterday on a bone hard poor surface we started poorly in the first half yet showed the right character to come back to win from two nil down.

You are entitled to your opinion but isn't it a bit daft and premature after only three games writing us off with those sort of comments?

You missed my point I agree its too early to say who the stronger sides are, I was saying I do not think any of those three were.

There were a few on here pre-season saying Leamington had strengthened and would be title challengers.... on results alone (not hearing any reports on their performances), they do appear to be living up to expectations with 3 wins, including away to Kettering and Hayes.

But at this stage it's still difficult to assess..... Banbury are top and I don't think they were any better than us.

Great result after being 2-0 down and by all accounts playing poorly. Good to see that man Callum Mooney on the scoresheet again.

Where are the Southern League getting the name Callum Mooney from?

They corrected it last time against St Neots but still continue to report it as Callum Mooney.

think Unders was right in the audio interview in that our best performance so far was in the Banbury game.

we struggled to get to grips with the pitch a bit as we have quite a few times in the last few years I guess as we do like to try and get the ball down and play.

some really sloppy goals to go 2-0 down especially the 2nd although admittedly we did have the illness and then reshuffle which probably didn't really help too much.

corners looked our best chance of grabbing a goal, although delivery had been pretty awful at times, and turned out that's where the lifeline came from. Good to see Dunn get a goal

great controlled half volley by Dobbo when it broke nicely to him on the edge of the box got us quick as a flash back to 2-2

much better from us 2nd half defensively and other than a few scares, a few of which were self inflicted by miss hit clearances or missed interceptions, I felt we were probably the most likely to get a winner if it came

Dobbo was very much hit or miss with his set plays all game more miss than hit but what a cross for the winner and Moone who had been quite quiet produced the finish just like last Saturday. get the good deliveries into the box and that lad will score goals goals goals.

Pretty sure we have already put two good performances back to back with St Neots and Banbury, but I assume you must mean because we did not win at Banbury it was not a good performance....

Think we all know we were not at our best today, however have still won against a team who have already taken 2 points off who most managers in our league are saying will be one of the favourites in Chippenham... I will happily take that, and quite happy for you to write us off Kirk (as most of your posts seem to anyway).

We are still a work in progress, and I am sure that as the season develops so will the squad, however we already have the same amount of points as we did last year from 7 games, so I look at that as a positive start.

Very difficult to assess teams at this stage, however, I still regard our performances as superior to those that we saw at the same stage last season. The Banbury result was a massive injustice, albeit you have to give credit to the oppo for their last ditch defending. By winning games when we haven't played well indicates that we are a good side and this stands us in good stead for being in the frame at the end of the season.

Just my opinion, disagree if you want you doubters!

So you put St Neots and Banbury down as good sides then ? Lets hope you are right then cause in my opinion that makes the league this season pretty poor.

I didn't say that, I was just responding to your main point that like last season we have been unable to put two good performances together.

In terms of my thoughts about the teams we have played.

Personally think Banbury will do well, they are in fantastic form (off the back of last season and this season have kept 11 consecutive clean sheets and lost only once this calendar year) have a young hungry side and are very together, do I think we are better then the answer is yes.

St Neots have gone and got two wins since, and that has surprised me to an extent, and I a, sure that Kings Langley will take points off teams at their place, and in Toomey have a striker who scored 41 league goals in this league when Hemel got promoted, do I think they will be up there challenging then no.

But whether they are favourites to go up or favourites to go down, you still have to go and win the games, anod hopefully we will do that more often than not.

Far too early to say how good or bad our team is. We need to see, at least, 12 games to see how all our new acquisitions are shaping up and how the team blends together.

To me, a couple of our players are still getting up to peak fitness and a couple are still finding their feet at this level, so it's too early to know what this squad will do, after just 3 league games.

Our managers are learning what our new recruits are capable of and we are yet to nail down what our best team is. So mad to draw any conclusion yet.
