staines_rebel_Jr
http://sloughtownfc.net/article/914?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Some good news and some bad news there. First the good news that Sean Fraser has been named first team club captain which is well deserved entering his fifth season at the club. Bad news that Harrison Gilkes has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will most likely miss the majority if not the entire season. Any one who saw him in pre season games will know that he is a very good player and would most likely have played an important role for us this year. Lewis Putman will also miss a few games at the start of the season as well which now leaves us light on wingers going into the season after looking like it would be our strongest part of the team. These injuries have meant that James Dobson will stay with us and has signed league forms. At times in his first spell at the club he was excellent so hopefully he can re-find that form again. Last minute injuries have slightly dampened the excitement going into the season added to having to go back to SYCOB a few more times but I for one am still looking forward to next Saturday and the next 9 months of football. Stuntman Mark
Very pleased for Sean. I've not seen him play yet but losing Gilkes is a big blow. However, if James Dobson can recapture the form of first half of the season before last we'll be in good shape.
