v St Neots

Recommended Posts

Really pleased with the performance and the 3 points.

I thought we controlled the game from start to finish and if you were being ultra critical we probably should have scored a couple more.

We'll never know for sure but I don't think the sending would have made much difference because we were superior to St Neots in every department.

I thought every player played well with Charlie Moone thoroughly deserving to be MOTM.

Onto Banbury which will be a very tough game and a real test of character for the team.

COYR!!!

Also thought Dobson had a very good game although did comment on general poor deliveries from set pieces (barring the goal). His heading was a real surprise, winning more than many of the bigger players in the team. Thought MOTM could have been any from him, Fraser and wazza but personally thought Simon Dunn was outstanding and looks a class act in centre midfield. Really positive start and onto Tuesday - let's hope Banbury bottle it teeheehee!!!

Have to agree, the spine of the team, Nisbet, Dunn and Moone impressed!

Lets just hope the injury to Nis isn't too bad having said that when Brad Hewitt came on he was excellent.

Also have to say Lee Barney looked dangerous and lively when he came on.

In pre-season what I saw of Simon Dunn looked impressive and after today no reason to change my mind, a class act!

Well done to the squad and management on today'performance as has been said all the new players were very good also thought Dobbo played well really hope he can build on his performance.

Interesting I put a piece on the southern league site on FACEBOOK about how telling ťhe silence was from the Neots players when there player was sent off.

Seems he sent a tweet saying Charlie went down as if hit by a two tonne weight.

So no admission that he let himself and his teammates down then, what a pillock.

Lots I could say about the game but being three sheets to the wind currently, I wont say much!

That's what can happens, when we win well ! ha ha ha!

Whatever.........Slough deserved the 3 points on the day. We know, not all games will turn out like that !

On a positive note, I believe, that had we played the full 90 minutes against eleven St Neots men, rather than the 10, we would still have won the game, which is a good thing.

St Neots, to their credit, were no pushovers and will only get better as the season progresses.

Today as good as we played, we did have a bit of luck on our side but as we know, that that will even itself out eventually.

As for the Slough team, how can you criticize any of our players playing in that heat? They all deserve a medal and a mention on here.

Stand outs for me though, were Charlie Moone, Guy Hollis, Gavin James, Nathan Webb and substitute Brad Hewitt who looked a useful player to have, given his size, willingness and presence.

.........and I thought I wouldn't be able to string a sentence together ! lol !

Not bad for a drunken old fart

Not sure about the bit about luck on our side. We were in command when they went down to 10 men and for me the result was inevitable.

Yes you are right,  but they did have a couple of chances early on and if they had got an early goal,

things could have been different.

Luckily, once there number 5 went, it was never in doubt.

Just listened to Banbury radio on their win today at title favourites Basingstoke and they seem supremely confident for the game against us on Tuesday.

Tough place to go and any result for us will be a big achievement.

BTW Declan Benjamin couldn't even get a place in their starting 11.
