Skelmersdale v Town

Good to see the lads are giving a good account of themselves up in the North West. Skelmersdale is a long way to travel, so delighted for the team and everyone who got up early this morning to make that journey. Let's hope we build on that lead in the second half.

Well done everyone  -  an excellent performance and result for the Town!

The return journey always seems that much shorter when you win. Plenty to celebrate on the way home.

Please share your own thoughts on the match if you were at the game.

Very good first half with Town running the show once they got over the long coach journey.

Could have been more than the 2 - 0 lead with a few close efforts and one hitting the post.

Obvious changes at half time to give all travelling players a run out changed the game and pressure points changed.

Town went 3 - 0 up and then a "soft" pen for Skem made it 3 - 1.

Lost our shape for a while and Skem stepped up their game for a good second goal 3 - 2.

Pressure now on Town as Skem pushed for another.

Few more changes to Town selection with roll on allowed and played out last 10 min or so okay.

A 3 - 2 win and a good performance overall.

Return per season in Enfield next year.

Nice entertainment from the Skelmersdale people and some stories and memories for some with the Old 1967 Skem Players who attended the game.

Coach trip home was "entertaining" with the Players bonding well !!

A good day.

Great to see you guys yesterday, hope you enjoyed your trip up to see us.

I'm of an age that I can remember the Skem-Enfield games of the 60s and 70s and good games they were, all of them.

I thought we were poor first half yesterday and your lads made us pay for it, we were lucky to only be 2 down at half time. We improved second half but left it too late to pull it back.

I thought you played some good quick football and your no 9 Whitely was MOM for me. He took both his chances well and could of had a couple more.

Best of luck for the coming season, I'll be looking out for your results and I hope to visit your place next pre season

Skelmersdale United support here

He of the bright yellow T Shirt and lots of hair

May I just thank The Players, Management, and Directors of Enfield Town Football Club for making the journey North on Saturday, it was very much appreciated

And thanks to to all you supporters who made the journey, I spoke to quite a few of you and I must say you are the most knowledgeable and passionate supporters I have come across.

It was truly a great day, the result, so you won again, really didnt matter, the fact is that we have reacquainted the two teams after all these years.

Talking to the old players, there was always a friendly rivalry between the players.

Good luck in your quest for this seasons title, there will be a few Skelmersdale supporters looking out for your results this coming season There will be regular updates in our programme regarding your progress

and good luck in the Cups, You just never know

cheers to you all

and thank you

And heres to next season when we shall be making that long trip South

I thought it was a thoroughly entertaining and worthwhile day out to Skelmersdale.

Our hosts couldn't have been friendlier and the match was a competitive one. Stand out performances from Corey and Imedd and a good workout all round. We played some scintillating football, particularly in the first half.

...and it's not often I get to go to Liverpool without missing an Enfield Town game!

Looking forward to the return game next pre-season.
