Fleet friendly kick off?

What is it with you lot??? Why can't you question the reasoning behind a decision! It was a valid query done so in a polite manner, yet you get jumped at, it's a joke it really is! Bakes gave his answer and that was that!

I shouldn't take it personally SB. You are entitled to ask you're question and others are entitled to reply.

Interrogation or understanding?

I would love to understand whether Sean Fraser being played in centre midfield is to get him minutes while the managers have a good look at Josh Jackman or if they genuinely believe Sean could be a centre midfield option.... but I'm frightened to ask!

Ha ha... bit of both Mark, Sean actually came to the club as a central midfielder, and that is where he played most of his career, however he ended up playing right back under Bateman, and then that continued with us.

I have to say he did really well in there for us last year away at Poole, so we wanted to give him minutes there pre season to have a further look, and with the emergence of Josh, and also the fact that Togs has missed two weeks, Dunny missed the Hendon weekend, and Nath missed a week, has meant he has ended up playing a lot of his time in there.

Again this is why pre season is so important, as you get t look at different things. Hope that answers the question.

I know you are looking for Neil to answer this but for what it's worth Steve Bateman used Sean Fraser in midfield on occasion, which was often in a 3-5-2 formation ie three central midfielders. I always thought he brought a lot of energy to proceedings there and was good there.

To me Sean is coming of age and is beginning to look stronger and sharper with every game he plays for us. He's still prone to making the odd costly error at right back, so it's probably why Bakes and Unders are running the rule over Josh Jackman currently.

However, I think Sean Fraser is too good a player to cast aside and his confidence is high which can only be good thing for our squad. The fact that he can adapt to different positions can only be a good thing for our team.

I don't think anyone should be frightened to ask any question on this forum!

On the question of Sean Fraser, as well as other players I think our managers do have a dilemma.

Sean Fraser, for the past few seasons has practically made the right back birth his own with very little competition.

Josh Jackman has been playing in the Thurlow Nunn league, relocated to this area and has been recommended to us, Thus far IMO Josh Jackman has been excellent in the pre season friendlies and has thoroughly deserved to have an extended run so that our managers can have good look at him. There are quite a few places still up for grabs and the right back position is still one of them and whilst our managers have a good look at Josh I think they are keeping Sean fit by giving him minutes in midfield. Having said that I think Sean has acquitted himself very well in his stint in midfield and certainly hasn't looked out of place.

3spirit, I don't think our managers have any intention of casting Sean Fraser aside.

A work colleague of mine who knows Sean very well say's that Sean started life as a striker.

Main pubs in Fleet near the ground are Fox and Hounds, which is on the same road as the ground but further away from town centre, not sure what ales, the Oatsheaf is the closest to the ground with a decent beer garden, and then as RR says you have the Weatherspoons, though for me not the greatest pub... I would say Oatsheaf or Fox and Hounds (which is on the canal)

Fox & Hounds and Oat Sheaf are both good options but if you're heading from the direction of the high street then the former is past the ground and a bit of a walk further down the road. I'm not a fan of the Wetherspoons either personally.

Admission prices, by the way, are £5 adults and children go free.
