Fleet friendly kick off?

Just looking to verify what time the kick off is for the Fleet friendly match, as the Fleet Town FC website has it down as 15.00 , whereas I was under the impression that it's a 13.00[ 1pm] kick off.

There has been some confusion regarding this, as I asked their manager back in April for this friendly andthat we needed it to be a 1pm kick off which he agreed, as the intention was always to use this is a team bonding day to get the lads better acquainted.

However their manager forgot to inform the secretary that it would be a 1pm KO, and that is why it has been showing at 3pm, however I can confirm that it will be 1pm as we had agreed, as this was all part of the plan for the day.

I find it bizarre that you choose to kick off at 1pm when played should be getting into the 3pm habits just a week later, I can see it a few weeks earlier in pre season but surely now it's the business end! Keep it as normal as possible, ie prepare the way you will be the week later and not be making the raft of subs (which I'm sure you will be) if you have stuff on then build your day around that but play at the normal time!

Personally, I'm not sure it will make much difference what time we kick off.

Besides it's only for one game and for the first few weeks of the season we'll be playing at 3 and 7.45.

If it was a home friendly I would agree but since it is an away friendly and most of our away matches this year we will have to leave "home" at different times and not be used to the surroundings when you get there then this 1pm kick off won't make much difference.

Fair point Staines Rebel Jnr... It's the times players have to eat though in terms of preparation more so than times they have to leave etc. I see what you are saying though, just seems an odd request to ko at that time, regardless of any other activities the management have that day.

Anyway, let's see what the midweek game has in store first.

I wont go in to all the ins and outs of the day, however the lads will actually be meeting up at 9.45am in Slough, to then have to get over to Fleet for about 11.45am, and therefore if it was a 3pm KO we would have people waiting around for a few hours before the game.

We will be having a team get together after the game, which is vitally important for the season ahead, as it gets the lads to get to know each other socially as well as professionally, and this is on the scale of a team BBQ in the afternoon/evening over at Unders house.

Well I'm glad it's a 1pm kick off, gives me more time in the pub afterwards ! ha ha !
