Gavin was quite lucky yesterday in the second half. This challenge (which the ref completely missed) could have put him out for quite a long time.

Also taking in the second pen.   The Didcot player kicked the ball to hard and wouldn't of stopped it from going out, but hurdled James (James didn't touch him) but still gave the pen.

But saying all that this squad has not played together at all until this game I'm happy the way they are jelling.

As a first friendly fixture, it was a good work out for the squad and was unusually competitive for a first one, if anything I thought Didcot were a bit too fired up, in regards to some of their tackles but with Andy Ballard at Didcot's helm, no surprise that his team would be keen and competitive.

The result means diddley squat. With Slough playing two completely different experimental teams in each half, it seemed more about getting players used to each others play and how they could adapt to each other than anything else really. So I wouldn't worry about the scoreline, if any fans are.

On the day I thought Lewis Putman and Harrison Gilkes caught the eye with their skills and were our best players.

Charlie Moone ,Gav James and Lee Barney were lively too, without setting the world alight.

Sean Fraser had a typical Sean Fraser game, exceptional in parts but with a few errors thrown in.

Paul Stonehouse looked a little rusty.

Guy Hollis and Mark Nisbet will need to work at their partnership but there was the odd glimpse of how good they each are, in parts.

Nathan Webb and Lee Togwell worked hard enough throughout but didn't offer a lot going forward. Simon Dunn came on second half and didn't shirk any challenge.

Funniest moment in the game came from James Warrington. After conceding a penalty that never should have been, he was very unlucky not to save the aforementioned penalty but because of getting so close and what was a farcical penalty in the first place, he then became Mr Angry by kicking the post ,swearing at himself and wild gesticulating over to the manager's dugout.

Anyone would have thought we were playing in the FA Cup not a meaningless friendly at Didcot !

Thanks James, for giving me a great laugh, it was the highlight of the match for me, and was a hilarious end to the game.

I'm still in shock that Didcot charged £9 for admission. Absolutely ridiculous for a friendly.

Wow I didn't realise that... For me that is far too much for a friendly at this stage of the summer.. Thanks to everyone that came, the squad will be a work in progress, and will take a few games for everyone to get to understand each other's play.

It is important to give players minutes, and also not give too much away in terms of our thoughts to any starting line up, however as we progress they will need to play with each other etc, however we have 4 weeks to get this right.

Yep, surprised at how much they charged. I paid codgers price (because I am), but nevertheless was expecting £2/£3. Full price surely brings with it the expectation that normal match day arrangements apply, however, no announcements and no programme therefore no information about team line ups, substitutions or goal scorers. At least there was food and drink for a lunchtime kick off!

Having seen Beaconsfield quite a bit last season Losasso is a good play maker type player and would play a good attacking midfielder / #10 role. The only issue i could see was his size and he might struggle with that in our league. Would be an interesting signing if he does end up with us and give us some good options.

I'm not sure size is important.

The two Poole players Devlin and Burbage spring to mind, quite small but two of the best players in the division.
