Anyway I'm getting the choo-choo to Didcot so I can have a few beers!

I would suggest going into Generous George for a few beers. This was the Hungry Horse, but instead of being owned by Greene King, it is now owned by Marstons, and so has 6 Ales on. So a much better Real Ale pub

The pub is not a 1950's estates pub. As the Ladygrove Estate did not exist before 1995. I work at Didcot Railway Centre as a volunteer, and witnessed the estate being built. The pub was built arond 1996. And was owned by Greene King, and was a Hungry Horse. It is now owned by Marstons. I have been in there sevaeral times, and each time, there were 6 Ales on

Thanks Andrew - I agree late 1990's not 1950's as I erroneously typed. I agree best bet on the way to the ground just thought everyone should be aware of it's modern estate type. Ironically due to current effects of medication I may not be able to tipple anyway! Interested that you work as volunteer at Didcot Railway Centre. I really like Heritage Railways and recently travelled on the Watercress Line. It's some time since I visited Didcot and if time allows I will call in on the day.

Best of luck with your work; I volunteer with special needs and like you find I am sure it is all very gratifying.
