Season tickets

The problem is aside from an advert (that appeared once to my knowledge) in the local paper, fans outside the club won't know about this special price for season tickets. Yes we all can and probably have told family and friends about it but the vast majority of other football fans who live in and around Slough won't be aware. Hopefully the first couple of home matches where we'll get bumper crowds there can be some very clear large and plentiful signage advertising the season tickets even at normal prices is still great value and hopefully a few may think about it if they like what they see?

Last season I saw 12 home league matches, two away league matches, and six cup matches.

I don't know if that makes me a fan, supporter, or occasional follower, but I bought a season ticket and will likely see a similar number of matches this season.... it wasn't about saving money, more about helping the Club (if they get close to 175-200 season ticket holders it's a reasonable foundation to start the season from).

I would say being a non-league club coming along to a game, and an away games defiantly make you a Supporter.

As its been said the main aim of the cheaper season tickets is to entice new fans into the club which it appears to have done. Obviously it's better for the club to sell no season tickets and have 500 pay on the day rather than the other way round.

Unfortunately there is no way of proving the extra ticket sales are from new fans unless the question was asked when applying.

Mike has a list of last season's ST Holders, so that can be used as proof of a non-renewing person, so just providing the normal details of name and address would do.

As a general point, I think people need to calm down. If people believe that moving back to Slough will instantly increase and consistently keep crowds at a level much higher than they were at Beaconsfield then they will be in for a shock.

The club has been out of Slough (out of sight and mind) for a very long time and in that time the demographic of the town has changed vastly. It has been difficult in that time to attract new support to Beaconsfield, but crucially new younger support. There is a big generational gap in the fan base that needs addressing. The best thing the club can do is work with local schools and importantly it's own Youth section to help fill this void and attract new support.

In addition, whilst local press might be a good method of communication and additionally the events the supporters trust have been running, we have one of the larger social media followings for a club at this level with posts/tweets seen by a population base larger than our following and that doesn't always equate to support.

Things will improve but it won't happen over night.

I was just using your post as a reference.

The normal price would of been £170ish instead of £130 If there wasn't a discount this season.

So during the  £100 special offer period  the club gets £70 less than for last seasons ticket?? Sell just 100 and there is a shortfall of £7000 The total sales will have to be considerably higher for this idea to have had any merit from the clubs point of view  but really great for supporters  Although as others have said full price entry on the gate is worth considerably more. Im sure Toms post is accurate and we will have to build a following and success on the field will be the key If we play attractive football and are challenging for  the play-offs I think we can build nicely  mid table mediocrity or worse will see us struggle imo

That would only be a £7000 short fall, IF ALL of last season's tickets were sold at full price, which they weren't, a very high percentage would have been sold at last season's discounted price so the purchaser could go in the £1000 draw.

With an adult ticket at full price being this season being £130, then buying one any time before Christmas is going to be good business for any fan, if they like what they see, which hopefully they will.

HR My extrapolation was for only 100 full price tickets last season but if there were less then the shortfall would be less but I agree that from a supporters viewpoint its all good and you are correct if we make a good start to the season then new supporters who decide to become regulars can still get a bargain

I think the point of the offer is not to make the club a stack of cash, but to reintroduce the club to the inhabitants of the town and entice them along to support the club and hopefully become regulars.

I thought the season ticket offer was a generous gift of kindness by Steve Easterbrook, to reward the fans who have stuck by the club through thick and thin.

I have never bought a season ticket before but have this season, Hopefully we will exceed what we got last season, by adding a few extra fans from this good offer, plus any new fans or those coming back from out the woodwork from the past to swell the coffers.
