Season tickets

There was a season ticket advert in the Slough Observer on Friday, although being picky not sure why the text was so small regarding playing in a brand new stadium? Surely this should be the most prominent text and would be a major factor in getting new season ticket holders?

I don't know if it was possible but I would have thought the advert would have been better positioned somewhere in the sports pages and ideally next to any Slough Town FC blurb.

Agree, the fact it's a brand new stadium, also costs and savings of buying a season ticket before the 10th July should be jumping off the page.

I don't agree it should be within the sports page as not everyone would read that section. Just seems odd as is thought it'll be obvious to shout about the new stadium as that's the main selling point. Maybe it can be changed if the advert is going in again this week? Regarding flyers yes it should be done but this would be very time consuming to produce and distribute and as we all know it's the same old people who volunteer, so that probably won't happen unless they can be inserted into the papers that are sold in shops.

I'm on about you not answering the question, and you still haven't.

No one from the club had mentioned flyers or asked for help to do a flyer drop until the question was raised on this forum about the advertising of season tickets in the local papers. So IMO a bit of a waste of time asking the question if the club are not even planning to do flyers.

IMO door to door flyer drops are time consuming and a bit random. Flyers cost money to produce and IMO a better use of the money would be bigger and better advertising in the papers.

Would the people who don't read the sports section be interested in buying a season ticket?

IMO just seems a bit more targeted in the sport section ideally alongside any news on Slough.

We are getting 1000 leaflets printed for use with the promotion events and also a Datchet Dashers running event which has around 500 entrants in late July (with thanks to Mark44 for organising that for us). There are also posters and forms that are being distributed to local pubs around Slough from what I've been told.

Yet again you still avoid the question like a politician.

What you should of said was "If the club are going to do a flyers or a flyer drop let me know I'm willing to help in that"

HA HA

I am only joking,

The best way is as DC said "the word of mouth"

I was collecting the kit after the legends game and this elderly lady asked about the new stadium, I got around to the season ticket prices, "I'll have to tell my son's and grandson as they are football nuts" So with 1 conversation we might have 3 people hooked.

Oh to have the Evening Mail back in circulation this was a great paper run daily when publicising the Rebels in the seventies/eighties.

Are there any evening papers in curculation in Berks/Bucks/surrey running at present.

The poster that used to show the fixtures next to the Grapes Pub at the crown in the sixties onwards was superb can we now use the Bus/Train Stations

to do this as well as other points used at present ie Tesco.s Queensmere Library.

  • 2 weeks later...

Without having the numbers to hand, we are already well on track to beat last season in terms of season tickets sold. Many thanks to those who have already secured their season tickets at the reduced rate. We will continue to hit social media with reminders up to 10 July and beyond, but would also be great to spread the word to friends and family.
