Looking forward to tomorrow's game with all the new faces on show.

Intrigued to see what new system/shape we are going to try out [as mentioned by Jon in the Slough Observer today]. !

Haven't read the article so not sure how it was worded but what I had spoken about was a certain way of playing that we are working on with the players as opposed to a "new system" necessarily. Doesn't mean we might not tweak the shape from time to time but you'll have to wait and see on that!

 

Looking forward to seeing some Rebels fans at Didcot tomorrow which should be a decent game to kick off pre-season!

I don't want to be over the top, Irishadrian, by criticising our new assembled squad, especially as they haven't even kicked a ball yet in a competitive match !

 

None of us know for sure how this new collection will do, and I'm more than happy with the recruitment drive Bakes and Unders have done thus far but for me I still feel we need another striker and a defensive midfielder for a tilt at the title.

It's not urgent to get them just yet, as we have a number of players that can play in unfamiliar positions and cover for what we need but it wouldn't surprise me if we add to what we've got at some point.

 

On the goalkeeper and defence front we look like we've assembled a formidable bunch, while on the flanks of attack we have some really exciting options.

Just not quite as convinced about centre midfield and our forward line, despite the quality signings we have made in both of these areas.

 

Still let's hope they prove me wrong and smash the opposition, figuratively speaking !
