Excellent additions to our squad with 7 new players. Bakes in todays paper saying Promotion is on, get in.

Jon/Bakes have their squad , now time to deliver and we are back in Slough

COYR

With 7 new players, a new ground and a new surface to get used to really emphasizes how important pre season will be to get everything to gel in order to hit the ground running.

I think we'll need 10 league games to get used to new surroundings (pitch, stadium, players) and hopefully we'd be in the top 10 at this stage. Very hard to predict what we will happen, everything could click straight away and find ourselves top playing in front 1,000+ at home or we could be mid to lower table playing to 400.

I think 750/1000 is a bit too hopeful imo

If we look at the types of fans we could get you would go.....

300 (The usual lot)

30 (Went to Windsor but not sycob)

50 (Due to it being walking distance of Wexham where people wold have walked to old ground)

80 (New fans for the new ground)

40 (kids & families from St Joes)

I make that 500, of course that is very much finger in the air stuff but think that a big cup tie could help our cause or being top of the league or in the top 3 as people above have said

It is very hard to predict but think of thousands of people who live in and around Slough that support the local and London Premier and football league clubs. Pretty sure a high percentage would be intrigued to visit them hometowns new stadium even if it's a one off. Wouldn't surprise me either if we had a capacity crowd for the first home game if it's on a Saturday, especially if we were top at the time.

Nice thought but I cannot see that happening just yet.

Be happy myself to see a thousand turn up and if we win maybe that thousand will come back.

There is definitely a buzz about town - I will be disappointed if we have below 1000 at that first game. The real challenge will be keeping them coming back. Let's hope we can start the season playing better football than we did last year.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game with all the new faces on show.

Intrigued to see what new system/shape we are going to try out [as mentioned by Jon in the Slough Observer today].

We've certainly got a lot of flair / good on the ball players in the squad but think we will need to be patient,as it's going to take time for them to gel as a unit, plus we have the added complication of getting used to 3g, and adapting our game for grass and 3g.

Certainly optimistic for our chances this season.

As a squad to start the season with, on paper it looks very good but I feel further strengthening will be needed when the games start coming thick and fast, as my gut instinct is, that we are still a couple of quality players short in key areas to get promoted but we shall have to wait and see if this true.

If we can get to Xmas anywhere in the top 8 I'll be happy [with of course cup runs!].

Not much to ask then! ha ha !
