Recommended Posts

Simon Dunn (centre mid)

Harrison Gilkes (winger / can play central)

Gavin James (striker) (international for st Vincent and the grenadines)

There is one of the two possible wingers I had mentioned a few weeks ago. (Harrison Gilkes previously from Poole)

P.s was about time we got another international player :P

i can't say I've seen or remember any of these 3 players, although was at the FA Cup match at Basingstoke last season. So we have a solid central midfielder, a winger and striker. I'd guess another striker and defender will be the other 2 possible signings (may well be more!). Can't say much more until we see them in action but on paper appear decent additions.

Sounds like three quality signings to our squad. Well done Bakes and Unders for getting them here.

Don't know much about Simon Dunn, other than the Basingstoke fans on their forum saying how good he is.

Gavin James haven't seen since he was a youngster, so I expect he's come along a bit since then, as he's been playing for Maidenhead.

As for Harrison Gilkes, I'm well pleased that we've managed to get him. He is a livewire and an exciting player to watch. Sure the Slough faithful will take to him.

Welcome to the Rebels Simon, Harrison and Gavin.

As others have said, on paper they look to be three very good signings. All three come with Conference South experience especially Simon Dunn and Harrison Gilkes.

If we can get a top left back, a central defender and another proven striker I'll be as happy as Larry   :D

Great to see some of the hard work Bakes and Unders have been doing come to fruition!

Look like 3 very good signings to start things off.

RR - I would agree with the top left back, centre back and striker and I'd like to see at least another striker and central midfield on top of that as well, would give us good competition for places and allow some rotation of players in cup games.

Excellent start.

I think we'd need 2 more strikers wouldn't we as we only have 2 currently? Although as we all know keeping 4 decent strikers happy doesn't always work!

As you say Glen, keeping 4 top strikers happy is very difficult.

With Harrison Gilkes being predominantly a left winger perhaps Lewis Putman could fill in as the fourth striker if needed?

Harrison is right footed RR and is very comfortable on either side, though Puts and Warren can both be options as front men on 3G, and can provide another option, though we hope to bring in another striker a left back and a centre half as mentioned, and there will be at least 5 or 6 players in a variety of positions at pre season with decent pedigree that we will be looking to try and bolster the squad with.

My mistake, just that in the videos I've seen of Harrison for Poole and Basingstoke he seems to always be playing down the left so just assumed he was predominantly a left winger who could play on the right if required.

Look forward to seeing the new guys, and the others that may join soon,at the pre season friendlies when we can form opinions and in particular see how they fit in with existing lads.

There may be an interesting tussle for starting spots in some positions which would be healthy.

Well done to Neil and Jon..............but, guys, please find time for some holidays before we start again!

What's happened to the young keeper we had, who broke his leg the season before last?

Might have got his first name wrong, was it Adam Bonnett? Know he was highly rated but of course inexperienced.

Just wondered where he has been playing.

Listening to Bakes on Rebels Radio I was thinking who the 'familiar goalie' might be who is coming along to give us 3 keepers in pre-season to give Mark Scott some competition.

I can only think of Jake Sommerville, James Warrington or possibly Jacko?

Jake Sommerville is still playing in Malaysia. Their season is currently in progress and won't end until end of October.
