League allocation

Recommended Posts

And perhaps at this weekend's Southern League AGM they will consider a rule change as per or similar to the one I suggested earlier in this thread - late change of mind leading to relegation. That is if you do not notify the league of your intention not to take promotion before a proscribed deadline and you try to do what Cinderford did then you are instead relegated to the next level below. So if the promotion if accepted would have been to step 3 but this is rejected beyond the deadline causing problems as have occurred recently then you do not stay at level 4 but go down to level 5. If you make your notification before the deadline then you stay at level 4.

So not only upsetting step 3 and 4 you want to bring in step 5, to this issue. I can't remember which team it was but didn't the same thing happen last season where a team refused promotion and stayed down? Also when Godalming were pushed over a league wasn't they compensated for it?

That is the difference. In the scenario I am proposing one of the clubs who would have been relegated are reprieved to allow the defaulting club to move down. The promotion from Step 5 is unaffected.

Far to sensible for the S / league / F. A.  to consider let alone approve. Unless proposed by one of their officers in 2 -3 years time.

The Isthmian ( rhyman) under Topsy`s stewardship may have taken this idea on board, they were forward thinking

That's ok as long as the club going down and the reprieved are from the same part of the country.
