Jake Parsons & Jhai Dhillon

Recommended Posts

Very sorry to see that both Jake and Jhai have now left the club.

Jake was undoubtedly our most skillful and gifted player but has had a torrid time with injuries and has hardly been 100% fit since he's been with us. Apart from his ability I found Jake to be a really pleasant and nice person and personally I was hoping that during the summer Jake would get himself into decent enough shape to make a real go of it next season but alas it was not to be.

Also sorry to see Jhai leave as I thought he'd done enough to nail down the left back position but it seems that the distance he travels to games and training has been a stumbling block.

I'd like thank Jake and Jhai for all their efforts in a rebels shirt and wish them all the best for the future.

Very surprised to see Jhai Dhillon leaving (it will be interesting to see who the 'someone a bit more local' is)..... with the injuries not surprised about Jake Parsons.

Thanks to both of you, and I wish you lots of success at your future clubs.

Jake Parsons has been unlucky with injuries and had an operation sometime during the season.

With the summer and pre-season to get himself fit one can only assume that the operation wasn't entirely successful.

I think I said it before the start of last season but next season more than ever we cannot afford to have players in the squad who are continually/have a history of being injured.

Having spoken to Baker recently I know that Neil and Jon an looking to bring in at least one new winger so wasn't too surprised to see Jake Parsons leave as he currently wasn't first choice player. A little more surprised to see Dhillon leave as he would be a very good back up player who would provide good competition for the wing backs and wingers. My guess is a more defensive minded left back may be brought in to help keep the goals conceded down.

It is a shame seeing Jake leave as I am a big admirer of his play. When he is fit and confident he can tear teams apart and go past any defender in this league. Unfortunately his big injuries have prevented him from getting any consistency in his game.

All the best to both of them wherever they end up.

Obviously Jake wasn't first choice because he'd been off for quite some time due to his operation. My point being that if his operation was a success I'm not sure why he wouldn't be able to prove himself by getting himself 100% fit during pre-season?

I think the majority would agree that a fit Jake Parsons would almost certainly have been a major player for us next season.

Of course these are only my opinions and the ones that count are Bakes and Unders.

Just to agree with the other posted comments, especially regarding Jake and his injury history of late. A lovely guy who was a regular attendee at games when he couldnt play and always pleased to chat. Regarding Jhai, I think he could have been a good left side midfielder, but we all know who is in mind to be our No 3 next season, and I truly hope that happens.

Good luck to those leavers wherever they end up and I am sure we will hear of their progress.

Good luck to both lads, particularly Jake who is a top bloke and a top player but unfortunately been blighted with injuries during his time with us. I'm sure we'll see him down at the new ground at some point next season.

Considering the number of injuries we have had this year I would have thought you would be happy to have back up players to come in but also to provide competition for places to keep players on their toes and performing to the best of their abilities.

There is also no guarentee that our current players will all stay. There is a long time between now and the start of the season.

As much as I like Jake Parsons as a player and a bloke, the fact of his regular injuries and that he never seems fully fit, and that he would have to play on a 3g pitch next season [which the ball runs faster on than grass] it's no surprise to me, him being released.

Jhai Dhillon, I thought we would have kept around, regardless of bringing in a new left back but if we are to bring quality players, then I suppose some players have to be sacrificed to balance the books.

I thought we already had two wide players?

Why would we need another two?

As back up or perhaps they are better than the current incumbents. I would imagine, though, it will be for options in attack and that you have cover for Wazza and Putts.
