Fantastic news on the 3 year kit sponsorship deal with Macron Cardiff Store.

A few questions spring to mind:

Is it just the away kit that will be sponsored by Macron?

Will this have any affect on MyFc or in fact any other potential sponsors for next season?

When will we get to see the new kit?

call me stupid but isn't there quite a difference between a shirt sponsor and a kit supplier?

You could be right there Mr Rebel.

Is the difference that a shirt sponsor will give a sum of money to a club to have there name on a shirt for a period of time and a kit supplier will provide a club with their kit and have their name on the shirt for a period of time

Ed, The new kit deal with Macron is for them to make and supply it.

They currently make the kits for Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Lazio, to name but a few.

Their name/logo will be on the shirt in the same way that Nike, Adidas, etc are on the shirts they make.

They have nothing to do with who sponsors the shirt.

Gary, is it the away kit only?

So we can presume Macron will supply all football and training gear for all the teams that's been agreed which in effect saves the club thousands I'd guess? I imagine they won't be supplying the replicas FOC!

Going by the blurb it's for the first team only.

I see they've just agreed to supply Hednesford but that looks like it includes their Academy as well.

"Slough have signed a 3 year deal"

Means money has been exchanged for products.

If they were given a deal would not be needed to be signed.

Not saying you're wrong SRJ but if a company gives us a kit for nothing (which I'm assuming has been done) surely a contract/deal would be signed for us to display their name on the kit for the 3 year period.

Unless of course it's simply that we have purchased the kit at a discounted price.

Perhaps someone from the club can clear up what the details of the 'deal' with Macron is?

Macron is a kit manufacturer so their name will be on EVERY shirt they make regardless of any deal or sale they make.

Really, never knew that SRJ   ;)

I think the main point is what have they given us for a three year deal to be agreed? Is it simply a discount on the kit?

The idea of a kit deal is that both the manufacturer and the club get certain guarentees which will benefit them.

The clubs benefit is they are guarenteed to get kits delivered to them fitting their specifications, I.e. Design and style of shirt to ensure consistency throughout the seasons.

The manufacturers benefit is guarenteed SALES for a fixed period of time. Other benefit is potential sales of replica kit which only that manufacturer will be able to provide.

The club is guarenteed shirts for three years and the manufacturer is guarenteed sales for three years.

The club will most certainly worked a deal with macron to not pay full asking price in return for guarenteeing that they will be buying shirts multiple times but they certainly won't be getting them for free.

If manufacturers just gave clubs free shirts they wouldn't make any money and would quickly go out of business.

I don't know any details of this deal at all but kit manufacturers do not simply give product away to clubs for free! I can only assume the club struck a better deal for X number of kits, training gear etc. than with the previous manufacturer.

Until we hear officially (IF we hear) you can't presume anything. I suppose thinking about it it's probably unlikely we'd get all kit free but I'd think it'll be discounted favourably. Anyway it's a step up in quality as Macron is known brand and supplies many top teams. I wonder if we're able to attract more local or higher profile businesses now we have a home ground?

At a recent home game supporters were being asked to choose from a selection of designs for a new away shirt and not a home shirt.

As in previous seasons will supporters be given the chance to select the designs of both the home and away shirts?
