4wembleyfinals
Did I hear right? It has been suggested that Farnborough may be aloud to stay in the Ryman Premier Division. Surely this can't be true although nothing surprises me where the FA and it's constituent leagues are concerned. Only, recently Sutton United were fined £500 pounds for playing an illegible player but as they were on the verge of winning the Conference South the deduction of 3 points, which the rule for this offence attracts, was deemed to be unnecessary. AS we have found out the FA Rule Book can be interpreted as they think fit. Rather like the commissars in Brussels. ( sorry just getting ready for the 23rd of June )
Steph
I cannot find a reference to it. Where did you hear that.
4wembleyfinals
I posed my question because in last Saturdays Ryman Premier League round-up David Watters, the leagues correspondent, when commenting on Farnborough's win over Brentwood, stated that " Farnborough's fate is still uncertain" However, I would have expected something on the lines of "despite their recent wins Farnborough will still be relegated". His comment, therefore, ambiguously suggests their position is still open to discussion. Perhaps it was just an error in his observations, but as I say nothing surprises me any more. 4wembleyfinals
Steph.... adding further to the puzzle relating to Farnborough, in his report on the recent play-offs in Sussex, our friend, Littlehampton, seems to be of the opinion that Burgess Hill, in 20th place and 4th from bottom, are relegated. CONFUSION REIGNS!!!!! as I thought that only the bottom three plus Farnborough were up for relegation.
Steph
Burgess Hill came 3rd from bottom. The following page shows 3 clubs relegated including Burgess Hill and I consider that the 4th club is probably Farnborough. I anticipate that a full round up by the league will be produced tomorrow after the play off final. I also anticipate that Farnborough will be the 4th club relegated. http://www.fansfocus.com/leagues/_/isthmian-league/premier-division-11/
Steph
However that page does not include VCD Athletic who came bottom so BH were 4th from bottom and. as you say, confusion definitely reigns.
Enfield United
I read on the Ryman round up last week, 'Burgess lost and slipped into the final relegation place' we will see.
4wembleyfinals
This is an extract of the Ryman Leagues Statement of 6 November 2015:-"However, the Club will not need to pay any claim which has been adjudicated on and rejected by the Supervisor of the CVA and not reinstated on appeal before the 2016 AGM.Accordingly, if Farnborough FC finish in first place they will not be promoted but will remain at Step 3 for next season; if they finish in a play-off position they will be deemed not to meet the criteria for participation in the play-offs and will remain at Step 3 for next season; if they finish outside the play-off places and in any place down to 20th, they will be relegated to Step 4 and if the club finishes in a relegation position they will be relegated to Step 5.There is nothing ambiguous about what is stated, so unless we have all missedsomething, it's goodbye Farnborough for next year.DON'T ALL HOLD YOUR BREATH !!!!!!!! Tom S
The ambiguity (to me, anyway) is whether the team finishing 4th from bottom will be relegated in the normal way or Farnborough take their place, ie whether it's four down or five this year. andyetfc
I couldn't see five coming up. Then again, nothing surprises me.
